[ Good skis ]
The hoar frost was picture perfect (spikes and everything). The snow in the bog was some of the best coverage it's had. There is plenty of debris in spots from wind, but plenty of snow. Firm pack in the morning, but zero ice with the temps. The bump coming down onto Brownie was a tiny bit dirty but not bad. A couple Red-tailed hawks were having a meal on JD Rivers, which was also covered well.

Our skijor team enjoyed over 6.5 sublime miles on all the Theo Wirth south trails! We're happy to have access to these natural snow trails to keep things interesting! Great job groomers!

All Wirth natural snow trails south of the Trailhead, including Eloise Butler and Quaking Bog were groomed Friday evening. Conditions are excellent. New tracks were set. Classic or skating will be a treat this weekend.

All of the Wirth South trails are in great shape for using good skis - both skate and classic - some of the best conditions we see on these trails anytime of the year. Skating was very fast and just enough grip to get an edge on the hard-packed skate deck. Beginners might find skating a little challenging but it's a great way to practice balance, weight transfer, and push off. Classic tracks pretty much everywhere possible, and in very good shape! Perfect bluebird day for skiing.

Skied Skyline, Tornado Alley, Norm Oakvik, Erikson, Quaking Bog, Brownie, and half of Cedar. Good coverage all around with minimal bare ground showing through. Some trails were hard packed due to freeze thaw cycles. Some parts, especially in the woods, have some debris from trees. Very enjoyable with the warm temps.

Fresh grooming throughout Wirth South for classic and skate - really excellent conditions throughout! JD Rivers, Jar Hill, Wirth Lake, Eloise Butler/Anwatin, Quaking Bog, 394 trail - even the sidewalk bridge across 394 - are all about as good as they get, including a fresh classic track. Make note of the clockwise direction at Eloise Butler/Anwatin.

Skied Skyline natural trail after seeing the grooming update. Conditions were great aside from a number of areas where the tracks were blown out, or missing due to steady traffic. Lots of folks out enjoying the warmer conditions.

Some of the best conditions in recent memory on the natural snow trails at Wirth this morning. Skied from old chalet down and through Tornado Alley, Wild Flower Garden, Jar Hill, JD garden, and Skyline (front nine). All in freshly groomed good condition for skating and the classic tracks looked solid almost everywhere. Full coverage with no concerns for good skis.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
South Wirth, including all natural snow trails south of the Trailhead were groomed and tracked this morning. Conditions are generally great, with a bit of leaf and twig matter here and there. Generally fine for good skis. I designated B skis only because of some rough ice under thin snow coverage on Anwatin Pond and Wirth Lake - all easy to avoid.

Skied all the trails. Really fun conditions out there today! Great coverage! Wirth Lake and Jar Hill are groomed. Things are a little soft, but not enough to slow me down. There was a lot of leaf clutter from the wind but I didn't mind using my good skis. One downhill on Anwatin had some kind of vehicle leave deep ruts that are scary to go down. Jar hill could use some signage as to the correct direction of travel. It was a free for all today! Very fun overall!
