After 4" of nice puffy snow yesterday, I rolled all the skates lanes at Tilson today. Left the tracks alone - they are skied in and look fine. About +1 F when I started, maybe +10 at 2PM. Snow in the forecast.

We groomed the Blue Trail Wednesday morning. Below zero temp, bright sun made a great day. It looks fine and should be very firm.

We received maybe 1 to 2" of moist snow all day Monday. Steve groomed all but old Blue trails for both skate and classic this morning. I Skated all segments he groomed including both ways on the NewBlue. The tracks are good almost everywhere with an occasional shallow place where the old crust was too hard. The skating was wonderful, finally, with great corduroy and no ice. So, yes, it was slower than the recent days of speedy skating but difficult edging and breakneck downhills. But oh so pleasant to be able to V2 or V2 alt. on a level deck. About 30 above F. and the groomed snow had already set up pretty well. I did not find any places where the new snow gave way to ice below.

I Refreshed the skate lane on Green, Orange, Yellow, and NewBlue this morning. This should hold until the next snow. The tracks are very icy but skiable with care on the hills.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Skated 18 KM after work. The trail was covered with 6"-8" hard packed transformed snow. It was a little hard to get good edge when skating from the melt. The snow was very fast and I did not see any wolves.

After a week of thaw and rain, the temperature held at about 26 today. Tilson Creek trails are back open and in good condition. We really did not suffer much notable loss of cover. There are a few stumps showing on the Blue Trail, and a rock or two on the Red. We ran the Tidd and Ginzu over all skate lanes - they look fine. A snowmobile had run over the Green trail on the soft snow but after multiple passes that looks all right now as well. We set new tracks there but not elsewhere.

4" to 6" new snow yesterday rolled last night. Cold today - just above zero at 4 PM. Two groomers out today covered all trails for skate and classic. We did not run the groomer across the swamp because of drifting snow, but did pack several times with the sleds. It's passable for classic. The skate lanes may be a bit soft from all the new snow but should set up well in the next few days. Tracks look good.
