Nice weather brought out lots of skiers and a couple of inches of snow. We groomed and tracked all trails this morning, and continued to post trail name signs.

My first time at Tilson and the trails are firm, fast and in great shape! Freshly groomed, except the Blue trail, which just had a light layer of snow on it. The Blue trail also had some softer sections.

On Sunday I ran the Ginzu over the skate lane on Green, Orange, Yellow, and Red trails. Looks and skis really well... great.

Skated for 4 hours on the trail. Freshly groomed the day before. A little soft but in great condition. With more than 2’ of snow in the woods.

This past weekend we received another foot or more of snow on Tilson Creek. Sunday we packed with sleds only, Monday we rolled and dragged, and today we used both Ginzus to groom and track all trail segments. The Big Bad Blue Hill trail is rolled for skating but not tracked.

We ran both Ginzus over all segments this morning, grooming skate lane and setting tracks. We were unable to track the Blue shelter loop because the snow was still too soft but did make two passes on skate lane. We did not do the Bogwalk.

Tilson saw about 8” of new snow Monday night, just too much to groom. So we packed with sleds and then ran the drag and roller over everything. You can skate on Wednesday if the snow sets up as expected. We plan to watch the weather forecast before deciding when to set tracks. The Big Bad Blue Hill trail is open! Be careful. The Bogwalk was heavily drifted but we did pack and roll.

We got another inch or so of snow, and groomed all trail sections with both Ginzus this morning. Cold, maybe 3 above, and windy. Thus no photos, no lunch! The Blue Return is looking better and better. A snowmobile had run the Red trail but without damage given the hard surface.

Made one more run over all the trails with both Ginzus this morning in bright sunshine, +8F. The Blue Return looks good and is amazingly firm. A ski Club member, The Big Nipper, cut all the sticks we couldn’t get to durning fall mowing so the Blue Trail is clean everywhere. The one big hill on the old main Blue trail is now perfect for fast runs down both sides. Since we did widen some areas there may be soft pole plants alongside the classic tracks in places, and the cold hard snowpack left some choppy skate deck, but we are fully recovered from the snow bonanza of last week.

Today we opened the mighty Blue Return trail, running from the main Blue back to the east side of Orange. We used the drag and roller for multiple passes. Note we were unable to mow this section so that there are areas with some weeds and sticks, but skating will be good once the snow sets. We did not track.
