Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
All trails were rolled today using several passes to pack the new falling snow. A quick one pass groom and track set was done on Big Pine Loop, Red Oak, Deer Path and Sugarbush after the bulk of the snowstorm had passed. Conditions will be soft as it normally takes several passes to firm up the trail after a large snowfall. Hoping to make some additional passes later this week to firm up the trail and deal with any melt/freeze.

Although conditions are likely to change given the current heavy snow we are getting, I just wanted to give a quick trail report. Overall in good condition. Previous report of a small section of gray ice is accurate, but it is avoidable.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Partial, B skis ]
The good news is that we survived the melt and rain this week and still have about 5" of base on most of our trails. The bad news is that the melting snow and rain left a handful of gray ice patches on our trail system that no amount of grooming can fix, including a really nasty ice patch right below the main trailhead by the Office. At this time we recommend all skiers avoid the main trailhead and use only the Trailhead off of Hwy H. Sugarbush, Deer Path, Red Oak and the northern portion of the Big Pine Loop were groomed today. Some sections turned out very good, but in other areas the tracks will be thin and icy. There is a gray ice patch on the north half of the Red Oak Loop between map points 7 and 10 which can be avoided by sticking to the southern portion of the loop. The steep nhill on Deer Path has a short section of dirty snow that I attempted to cover with shoveled snow from the sides of the trail, which mostly succeeded but there could be an odd pebble or small stone still embedded in this section of trail. Best conditions can be found on Sugarbush and the southern half of the Red Oak Loop. Included pictures show some of the good patches as well as the gray ice patch on the Red Oak Loop.

Skied Big Pine, Red Oak, Deer Path and Sugarbush. Overall, the trails are holding up pretty well despite the heat wave. There are a few thin spots near the edges of the trail on Big Pine and the North side of the Red Oak Loop and a small patch of dirt on the steep downhill on Deer Path. Otherwise coverage is still very good and in the shaded sections plenty of base and deep classic tracks. Tracks are icy or slushy depending on time of day under the pines and in the sunny spots so timing is critical to finding an enjoyable ski in the spring like weather. Best conditions can be found on Sugarbush, the South part of Red Oak and North half of Big Pine Loop.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
All trails except Big Pine Cutoff and Dragonfly Loop were re-groomed today. Most segments received 3-4 passes with our Ginzu which did a good job of breaking up the crust and ice and reducing the amount of forest debris. Tracks are a little shallow and icy under the pines where the crust was very hard, but elsewhere the tracks came out looking really good. Groomer's choice recommendation for the weekend would be Sugarbush, Deer Path and the Red Oak Loop.

Treehaven's beautiful two track has plenty of snow and a solid base that Eli was grooming during our ski. Weekend skiers are going to love it. Carpe Skiem!

Really good conditions. The 1/4" of snow we got the other day covered up quite a bit of debris. I was a little concerned about the possibility of soft track, but this was not the case at all. Everything was safe and solid.

The first section I skied from Hwy H was groomed well, but had the typical leaf, bark and fern littered in the tracks. However, the next section had just been regroomed and was fantastic.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Tracks were re-set on Big Pine Loop today, all other trails were groomed on Thursday and are mostly in good shape except for some pine needles and assorted forest debris. We encourage skiers to use the Hwy H trailhead this weekend as parking will be limited near the Main Office through Sunday.

Grooming Scheduling
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
All ski trails except the single track segment of Dragonfly Loop were groomed today and tracks re-set. Tracks should set up firm with the cold temps. We encourage skiers to use the Hwy H trailhead to access the trail system as parking will be limited near the Main Office through Feb 5th due to several large groups holding events at Treehaven.
