Grooming
[ Trails Open: Partial, Rock skis ]
About 2" were packed on the natural snow trails this morning. The deck is soft and will not be great, but most of the natural trails are ski-able with brush and dirt only coming up in a couple spots. I would not even try to go on the hill trail as there are some huge ruts.

Great news, the maintenance crew is beginning to move the snow along the trail. It is anticipated that the Star and Willow trails will open Saturday, Dec 1st at 5 AM. Check back tomorrow for a morning update.

Now that the temps are consistently below 25 degrees the maintenance team is working 24/7 to snow in the trails. Check back Thursday afternoon for an update. Avoid the lines, buy daily or annual pass online.

Lots of snow being made. No signs of grooming. Looks like they are making snow up to the frog loop.

Observation Secondhand
[ Trails: Closed ]
I ran the Hyland park trails after work and I am encouraged to see the piles of snow they are making. I can report the downhill has 100% coverage and is in prime condition. I called Three Rivers earlier in the day and they indicated it would be a couple weeks before the Nordic trails are open.

Snow guns are working overtime. Looks like they will have the donut by the chalet covered in no time.

This afternoon I rollerskied the trails and spoke to Harry in the ski chalet. He said that Hyland was going to start making snow Friday November 16th. They are unsure when they will open but my guess is by Thanksgiving weekend.

Firsthand: Both

Skiwalked the cross county trails and could hear snowmaking. However, the snowmaker was for our frenemy downhill skiers. Our skinny ski Hyland cannot be too far behind for snowmaking on the nordic trails.
