Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
Trails aren't groomed for skate or classic at the moment but there's good snow coverage. Was really tough as a beginner learning classic but some skate skiers seemed to be having a decent time. Bummer since it's been a beautiful weekend and one of our last big snow storms for this winter.

No grooming done - no trails set - had to break trail. Great day to get out and ski - had a great time.

Nice corduroy roller pattern. Groomer passed me twice, so it's not setup yet. That said, it was a little soft, almost sticky when I started. I could feel it starting to setup, so it should be an excellent base.

[ Trails Open: All, Rock skis ]
The groomers have been fighting the good fight, and conditions were decent, despite the lack of snow, warm temps, and now rain. They had recently been at the golf course, and some stretches were surprisingly good, with a firm deck, but enough give to get a decent edge. There were some bare spots and some icy sections, especially on the park trail, but it was holding up enough to ski.

[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
The groomers were out at around 11am. Just one pass with the machine didn't make too much of a dent in the icy surface, so it was about 1/4 beautiful and 3/4 white knuckle. As of 11ish, about half of the park, half of the golf course, and half of the skijor trail had a single pass with the groomer.

My first time at Bunker Hills and I skied the orange and purple loops. It was late afternoon so pretty variable conditions. I was surprised how firm the skate deck was. It was mostly pretty hard and icy except in the most sun exposed areas that were slow and sticky. It looks like the trails haven't been groomed for a few days so skate deck was mostly a refreeze of a pretty chopped up trail. Fun trails, tough conditions in this weather.

Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
It looks like the golf course was groomed yesterday. The skiff of about 0.25" of fresh slushy snow on top made the classic tracks a challenge at first, more like backcountry skiing. After a few skiers went through, the tracks were in good enough condition to be in pretty, pretty good shape. The deck looked decent if you're into a soft, feathery skate.

Skied the golf course around 1pm. The tracks were non existent/shallow in a lot of spots and a lot of tree debris.

The classic tracks were reset on the golf course and skijor trails and were in excellent condition in terms of integrity. With so many oaks around, and the heavy winds, the tracks were littered with leaves in most places, making it challenging to find any solid gliding. There are a couple of windblown places on the skijor trail, but those are relatively small sections. The skate deck was in very good condition throughout.

The groomer was doing the golf course around 10 am, and the skate deck was in excellent condition. It looked like they were in the process of resetting the classic tracks as I left, so they should be in pristine condition for the next few days. The park hadn't been groomed yet.
