Woodland Edge, Wetland and Wedge Hill Savanna were in very good condition. There was no classic track. It was overcast and right around 32 degrees when I arrived at 3:45. I used FastWax Red LF. Didn't have high expectations when I arrived too late in the day and had to rush a little to get off the trail before dark. But it turned out to be my best skate of the season so far. Just enough moisture for my skis as they were waxed to move well without too much effort. There were some leaves on the trail where you would expect but it was a consistently good skate surface and the only significant dirt bleed-through was on the downhill curve immediately after the RR tracks. ( It's in the middle so you can ski around it; just look as you round the curb and begin the descent.) There was a break in the trail for pipeline work on the loop in front of the trail center. No ice. Sustained skate from the start to beginning of the climb on Woodland Edge, from the top of Woodland Edge to the start of the climb to Wedge Hill Savanna and all of Wedge Hill Savanna once I crested the climb. Groomers did a great job. Looks like they even threw snow on the surface under the bridge top cover up the sparse snow underneath it.

First of all, it was great to see these fabulous trails groomed! Most of the primary inner circle trails are very good, the outer loops have lots of oak leaves which made skiing more difficult. There were only a couple of partially bare spots but those were easy to avoid. Fun to skate at William O'Brien again!

Skated the park between 10 and 11 today. Looks like all the trails were groomed for skating but no classic tracks. Some leaf litter in the woods. The groomer was out grooming when I was there and the skate deck was a nice soft ribbon of snow. The groomer was on its first pass and about 1/2 way around the system. Almost all of the trails were in very good to excellent condition with no real hard pack or ice. There is pipeline work in the park and you have to cross some dirt on the campground trail and right before the warming house in the field. O'Brien had the best skate conditions of several places I skied this week after the warm/freeze.

[ Trails Open: All ]
My fourth and final stop, only a few miles from Jackson Meadows. The trail were all rolled but no grooming had been done for either skate or classic. Talked to a park worker who said there was not enough snow to groom so nothing would change until the weekend. Went back to Jackson to ski.

[ Trails Open: Partial, B skis ]
Finished skiing at 2:00PM today and the inner loop had been rolled but not final grooming. None of the outer loops had been rolled including wedge hill or either of the cut across trails. Grooming looked to have been done for the day.

No grooming yet, but lots of snow. A skied in classic track exists all the way around. Old school skiing for sure. Skating would be tough in the deep snow. Grab the woodies and head on out.

Great conditions for classic skiing at 9 am. Not groomed, but nice track set by other skiers. Skied for 1.5 hours and saw only one other skier.

Nothing groomed but it's all skiable. Norwegian tracks for 90% of the trails. Snow was somewhat wet and it was melting from the ground up. Probably about 7" on the ground. I was out on the river pigs and I hit a few sticks but no rocks.
