Skied the manmade snow trails before 8 this morning, tracks were in good shape. Very firm and wind blown in some select areas but overall pretty solid (thank you groomers!) and its always a great ski when you can hit the Judy loop. I didn't use klister but had had some sticky hard wax on with a VP30 cover which worked alright. Could have used klister but be warned that some leaf debris in areas may force you to dance in/out of tracks :). Skate deck seemed to be in great shape.

I skied these snowmaking trails: green meadow loop, inner meadow, twin lake trail, Jim's hill, coaches corner, ridgeline trail, the north finger, and la squadra loop. The snow was coming down while skiing. It was a bit wet and stuck to my skins on some parts of the lesser skied trails like north finger and la squadra, which made it difficult to get any glide. I had applied de-icer before going out too. For the most part, it was fun skiing. As a less experienced skier, I liked that the snow was a little slower to practice going down some of the more difficult hills.

Fantastic grooming. Slow but fun conditions. Conditions were getting a little bit slower with the freshly falling snow. Great way to start the day.

Given the snow, and the appearance from the parking lot of the chalet, I assumed this might be an outing where I ski 100m, get frustrated at the slow pace, and return to the car. Not the case today! Though last night's grooming had a layer of heavy wet snow, it was actually pretty fast. My pace was my average; ended up skiing 11k before work.

The made snow loop was fairly slushy in the afternoon, though some spots had the crispy/slightly icy deck- including Drevil's drop, the downhill before Coach's corner, and especially the last stretch of the meadow heading into Twin Lakes (it was more pleasant double poling there than using the deck). I imagine it will be pretty crusty in colder mornings. Some people were headed out onto Judy- it was likely soft enough given the conditions and the coverage looked good.

Good conditions for skate skiing on both the man made snow and natural deck. The natural tracks for classic were a bit icy in areas.

Quiet at Wirth this morning, except for the noise of my skis running over tiny ice nuggets. Tracks were great on the snowmaking loops! Thanks for that amazing base. The Judy looked great for skate (except for some thin/icy patches, mainly under trees), with fresh corduroy, but no classic tracks set.
