So much better than expected - classic track quite fast but slowing down around 11 am when I left. Skate deck looked very good. Thank you groomers!

I wasn't sure what to expect with the onset of warm weather again. I decided to use skin skis instead of the wax skis which worked well on Tuesday with universal klister. It was the best ski of the season for me. Although not as fast as the tracks would be under ice klister or spring skiing I'd still call it glazed lightning. Great glide and great kick. There wasn't much traffic and the track and skate lane were still firm.

Conditions were very good this morning. Skate deck was great and tracks looked great. I waited for the fog to lift.

Excellent conditions today at Elm. The skate deck was in really good condition, but I focused on classic, and the tracks were fantastic. The warmer conditions have allowed for faster speeds, and the groomers have kept the tracks rigid with no real washouts. Ski traffic around 9:30am continues to be relatively light, with the occasional exception of beginner ski classes, but the instructors are very conscientious of other skiers out on the course.

I skied classic at Elm Creek this afternoon. The tracks were in great shape and the deck looked good with little or no sugar on the hills. There were dozens of little kids just learning to ski so I didn't stay long.

Only five skiers at 9:30 am, more when I left. South donut and switchback open, so 2.4 km per loop. Trail in good shape but cold and slow snow, at least for me.

Yay, the South Donut is open! Grooming was very good for both skating and classic. For some reason my glide was the worst of the year bar none.

Both skating deck and classic tracks in excellent shape. They were making snow and moving it around on the South Donut, so hopefully it won't be too long before it's open.

For the first time in all the years I've been skiing at this beautiful park, I was by myself. Literally not a single sole on the entire course. Bitter cold and wind will do that, but the course itself was pristine. The snow was good, and the grooming was incredible. The deck was firm with perfect corduroy, and the tracks were amazing - firm and well-defined, no washout areas. If you can bundle up and get out there, it is worth it.

No new segments open. Some very nice hard track, some completely blown in. Really felt the wind and snow gun drift between the downhill skill park and the parking lot. Guru green kicked pretty nicely in fairly slow conditions. I'm happy to have places to ski with our continued dearth of snow.
