SWAIN AND WINTERS JOIN SISU JUNIORS’ COACHING STAFF

ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Sisu Nordic Ski Foundation (SNSF), a Twin-Cities-based organization dedicated to the development, support and promotion of Nordic Skiing in Minnesota, today announced that Jojo Winters and John Swain have joined its coaching roster. Winters and Swain will assist with Sisu's Summer 2009 Juniors' training program that begins on June 15.

Winters, a national-class skier, was a member of the University of Wisconsin, Green Bay, ski team. During the 2008 season, she placed 26th in the 5K Skate and 26th in the 10K Classic at U.S. Nationals. In addition, Winters finished 12th in the 2008 American Birkebeiner.

Swain, a former Sisu athlete, skied for Colby College, in Waterville, Maine. He won the 2008 City of Lakes Loppet classic race and finished 56th in the 2008 American Birkebeiner

Sisu's Juniors' program is designed to help Nordic skiers develop better ski technique and increase their fitness level. Participants range in age from 12 to 21. They benefit from the extensive coaching and race experience of Sisu's seasoned staff, as well as the opportunity to meet other students with similar interests.

The program provides an environment for a range of junior athletes to reach their goals-from skiers who have never roller skied to those training to achieve State, Collegiate and U.S. Championship titles. Sisu also offers opportunities for additional activities including camps, race travel and support, equipment, physiological testing and training plan design.
