Anvil received 6 inches of wet, heavy snow this week. We packed and set tracks on Military, East, and West trails. All other trails are untouched. Grooming plans: we plan to finish grooming on Monday when temps are lower. The trail is not currently wide enough for skate skiing.

All trails at Anvil were groomed today. Tracks were set on Lake Loop, West, East, Ninemile, Military, and Butternut Trails. We got about 2 inches of light snow this week. It freshened up the trails nicely. Strong winds today knocked down a fair amount of debris in some areas. Low temps should set the trail up nicely.

I classic skied today as I was interested in skiing the classic only Ninemile and Lake Loop trails. The temperature upon arrival was 17 degrees and it held steady for the next few hours. I was greeted by 3-4 inches of fresh snow on top of the classic tracks and the skate deck since the grooming that was last Thursday. That made conditions a bit slow but that was ok as it helped with negotiating the steep downhills on those two classic only trails. The groomers are doing a great job grooming the classic only trails by raising the track setter on both the downhills and the uphills. I skied a total of 18 kilometers. I would rate overall classic conditions as good. The scenery here is awesome!

Anvil has been groomed and tracks have been set! We apologize for the gap in grooming. The cold temps and equipment failures kept us from maintaining the trail the past two weeks. Anvil looks the best it's looked all winter! East, West, and Military trail have a wider skate deck than previously this season.

Great conditions overall. Did 9 Mile Trail and Devils Run. Snow a little wet due to warm weather, but otherwise great.

Excellent conditions, nice looking track although I skated. The deck is not overly wide but plenty with good technique. Forest is beautiful there!
