Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Skied from Irvington to Downsville. Best skate conditions this year. Solid base with an inch or so of powder. Few icy spots and some leaves and branches, but minor. I skied from Menomonie to Irvington yesterday and it was generally good but there are icebergs across the trail a little past the 1 mile marker; need to be very careful here.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
The Red Cedar trail was groomed and tracked from Menomonie to Downsville. The trail has a good base and a few inches of new snow have covered most of the leaves and small debris. Two classic tracks were set from Menomonie to Irvington and one classic track from Irvington to Downsville allowing for a wider skate lane.

Classic skied 4 miles south from Menomonie and back. Trail is fully covered with new snow over hard packed snow/ice. Track are in good shape. Some people skate skiing out who looked like they are going ok.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
The Red Cedar trail was groomed and tracked from the trail head in Menomonie to Downsville. The snow and base are in good condition with occasional patches of ice. There are stretches of the trail where there are leaves and small debris. Overall, very skiable but leaves and debris make conditions fair.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Rock skis ]
Mother Nature's warm up last week and now with the colder weather, the trail is all ice. I skied about 1/2K in the tracks but it was too icy to continue even though it's flat. Hopefully we receive snow soon.

Mostly great coverage--some minor areas have debris. Ice trail under the bridge at Irvington is treacherous and mixed with rocks, but the skate deck improves south of there. Some unfortunate snowmobile traffic ruined the peaceful morning, but oddly improved the granularity of the trail. Great scenery.
