Notes

Spidahl Ski Gard (farm in Norsk) is a private touring center located in sugar maple hills four miles south of Maplewood State Park. It has trails groomed for classical and skate skiing with ski and snowshoe rentals available. The owners, Cindy and David Spidahl, love to ski and it shows in the trail layout and grooming.

Beautiful skiing with lots of snow in the woods and more on the way. Currently grooming only three trails and will bypass a couple sugarbushes after next snowfall. Skate deck was groomed but the tracks were left alone so will be glazed in some areas.

After working through all the damage from the ice and heavy snow storm, I am happy to announce that all the trails are now groomed for classic and skate skiing with a firm skate deck and classic track. The classic tracks and skate lanes in open areas will be touched up before the weekend. Really nice skiing.

Fantastic afternoon on freshly groomed trails. Arguably one of the most beautiful areas in Minnesota. Rolling hills hills though hardwoods. Fast. Fun!

Excellent conditions at Spidahl's Ski Gaard. Firm skate deck and solid classical tracks. I think all but one or two loops were groomed. Very little debris on trails, never a problem. Lots of snow still stuck on the trees and bright sunshine made for outstanding scenery.

Skate skiing on Ski Bee in the moonlight on velvety snow was dreamy! The only trail yet to be groomed is Liz's Loop in the south woods.

We had an amazing ski at Spidahl today! We did a lap on Speedy's and then Chick's Bop, and Emma's also got rave reviews. Both were in fabulous shape and skied beautifully for skating. No tracks yet on Chick's Bop, but great tracks on most of Speedy's. Kudos to Dave and Cindy for such amazing early season conditions. Thanks for hosting us!
