Looked like groomers just finished up, skate deck skied great: fast and easy to edge. Tracks were set too. Hard to quit conditions!

My first time at Wolverine - what a fun system! Mid-winter conditions for skating. Rocket fast with great edge. I chatted with the friendly groomer; he had just finished grooming nearly the entire system but wasn't able to set new tracks. I even got to experience white-out conditions from an April lake-effect UP snow squall.

The base is deep. Trails are well groomed. Tracks were firm and not punchy. Skate lane was a hair soft. Faster in the more exposed areas. There is a lot of snow on the Three Sisters Bridge.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
What a variable weather day. Trails were wonderful this morning with great skate lanes and track. An hour snow squall came thru at 11 am and put an inch of wet snow down on the trail system. Trails were still skiable but rather slow. The sun came out and warmed up to the low 40's. Grooming plans: Grooming will commence tomorrow if conditions permit.

We found beautiful grooming and perfect conditions this morning at Wolverine Ski Trails in Ironwood. Starting our ski at 9am we enjoyed excellent glide (fast! wheee!) with very nice skate-offs (no skittery ice and no digging in), as in the perfect Spring skiing! The corduroy was new and only one skater had got there before us, but none of their ski marks were sinking in, so Yay! Mostly all oldish granular snow, except new snow coming up the hill and over the top after passing the chalet. We skied everything, and especially enjoyed our first time going up the center loop and past the old ski jump and the views! But then the ski up to the Powderhorn Ski Area lift was great too. Aw shucks, what else can I say it was just a great morning on great trails! The classic tracks were all groomed and good. Thank you to Wolverine Ski Club for keeping up with grooming! The snow is still plentiful and clean! Get out there and enjoy!

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Still winter here at Wolverine with all the snow. 200 plus inches of snow this season. Groomers were out this morning freshening the trails. Striding was great early afternoon with easy going tracks. Was starting to get soft with solid track walls. Did not see any track blowouts on the novice trail. Great fun!
