One last go at Cleary, pretty rough shape, icy, soft, dirt, etc. I don't think it will hold up over the next couple of days, but who knows. Glad I went but it was a challenge to say the least.

Still skiable! There has been daily grooming of the skate deck. Tracks are mostly gone. Mix of good snow, slush, ice chunks, ice and grass/dirt. Recommend rock skis and getting there early in the day, after the snow softens up a bit. Be prepared for scratches on your ski bases.

Groomed this morning, still holding up for skating, a few icy spots where you need to double pole, but very skiable fast and fun! No classic tracks.

Thought I'd give Cleary one last hurrah, and was pleasantly surprised at the conditions. Skate deck is still skiable, usual spring conditions in a few spots, but overall great spring skiing!

Late afternoon ski with my classic-skiing friend found the trail with 100% coverage, washed out tracks, ice where you would expect; otherwise varied from unmetamorphized, not-yet-corned snow to corn snow. It was 34 degrees according to my car; unfortunately less than the weather.com hourly forecast I checked last night before waxing my skis with Swix Red klister. I don't know if the absence of a defined track made any difference but I certainly wasn't getting much glide or reliable kick so I ended up skating most of the time. Downhills were still okay as well as flats if I carried some momentum into them where the corn snow prevailed. Mid to late morning within a hour or so of temps reaching 32 degrees should provide decent skating.

The skate deck was tilled this morning and in good shape, with the exception of the exposed areas which were very icy. Rock ski conditions, IMO. The track had not been set but was still intact over about 70% of the trails. The remainder were washed out. The temp was about 30F when I was out; obviously things will change as it warms up. Some debris but not much!

Cleary is still holding up. Skied all loops, icy in spots as expected but firm and tilled on most of the trail. Classic track was pretty beat up and washed out. All good this time of year!

Cleary continues to be in excellent shape for both classic and skating! The entire system was groomed this morning, leaving a uniform, lightly tilled skate deck and deep, well-defined set of tracks. The track washed out in a few places, and was ice where the direct sun hits it from the south, but 90% is pristine. No debris or leaves anywhere!

The whole trail system at Cleary was amazing. Probably the best I've seen for this time of year. No bare spots, no deep groves. Perfect skate deck. From what I could tell, the classic tracks looked great too. Stay off the golf course trail if you want to undo the positive ski vibes. That's like a dog trail.

I skied the full loop through Upper and Lower Ironwood on the classic tracks. Groomed with tracks set this morning early. Snow is soft, as are the tracks - not used much as of 2 pm. Skate deck was starting to get some light snow on top. I felt like I was moving moderately fast - about 45 seconds per mile off my top pace. I would say still great conditions overall. Only spots where the deck is getting thin is coming up the hill out of the March on lower ironwood and some of the road crossing areas. Base is still good even with the warm temps all week.
