Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Fantastic skiing at the Camp today. The skate lane was groomed this morning and in really good shape. The classic tracks were not groomed but very good. Surprised that there were only six cars in the parking lot at noon. Lots of good skiing left at the camp.

Evening
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Strided Oaks, Birches, Per's Loop, some of Maples. Conditions are excellent - best I've seen at the Camp this season. Tracks on Per's loop a bit thinner, but most were nearly full depth and solid. Get out there while you can and enjoy!

Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Skated all of Birches, Maples, and connectors (including Per's loop) this morning, and was pleasantly surprised. Skate deck was level and wide, and the entire trail was well covered with little debris. Snow speed was variable depending on shade and depth, from fairly fast to slow and deep. Tracks looked decent depth, although not regroomed recently. Overall, better than we thought it would be, and amazing to have these conditions in mid March!

It wasn't fast, but it sure was pretty! Started skating at 10:15 in 34 degrees, by the time I finished at 11:45 the temp had soared to 40 degrees resulting in sluggish conditions. There is alot of snow at the RFC so well-timed skiers will be rewarded. The classic tracks were ungroomed after yesterday's roughly 2". Carpe Skiem!

Classic tracks were set and in good shape till you got to a corner then most of them was bumpy or very clumpy and bumpy but it was white. Skate deck was fair to bumpy. We could use a lot more snow. It is what it is. Hope to have some snow left to get out Saturday.

Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Skated interior loops of the Maples; areas adjacent to the rifle range, and the lit loop in 33 degrees under a sunny sky. Good spring skiing encountering a range of skate deck conditions to from flat and near perfect to bumpy and clumpy. Tracks are present, but have not been reformed since Monday's snow fall. Carpe Skiem!

Should brought my classic skis! Skated the interior loops in 36 degrees, under a cloudy sky and was "rewarded" with a slow ski due to the soft conditions, while the tracks were well formed and clean. There is plenty of snow cover, let's hope for some colder temps. Carpe Skiem!

Skated the camp a little after 8 am. Skied birches twice. I would rate conditions as fair at best. There were a lot of ruts from when it was skied on during soft conditions. Trails had firmed up but had not been re-groomed leaving icy rutted conditions. I normally ski maples but I didn't want to do the downhills in these conditions. It was starting to soften up a little before leaving. Was disappointed.

Beautiful day skiing. Classic tracks were shallow but other than that, perfect day. Perfect conditions.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Both
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
We tried twice to ski - skate in the morning and classic in the afternoon. Both were equally frustrating, despite the county crew's best efforts. There is full coverage and the snow is deep, but too deep to get a push on skate skis (really needs to be heavily packed down), and uneven with lots of quickly accumulating damage in the classic tracks. So many people used the trails throughout the day, with unfortunately lots of damage from snowshoers and walkers. Walkers ignored pleas to get off the groomed trail. We will try another day.
