Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, Rock skis ]
Pretty good crust skiing conditions this morning. A firm glazed skate deck for most of the trail but there are some dirt spots starting to break through in sun exposed areas. Also some icy spots here and there. Skied from the golf course out to 9K, a nice, fast, spring crust ski.

Classic skied the loops in back of the golf course out to Old 32 road with skins. Full coverage in the woods except for the snowmobile trail crossings. Golf course has some thin spots.

I tried both skate and classic. There is plenty of show on the trail. I had better glide while skating, but the tracks are still in good shape. We were here around noon.

[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Skied the golf course and out to the Old 32 parking lot. Got the timing right, just as the overnight crust softened, but before the trail got soft. Very nice skating on this section (which was groomed yesterday). Skate lane was flat and firm and the classic tracks were solid.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Conditioned the skate lane from the golf course parking lot to the Old 32 parking lot. Broke up the icy glaze and created a skate deck with 1/2 to one inch of shaved ice over a firm and flat base. I went out and skate skied when I was done grooming and it was very nice, fast but easy to get an edge. We were unable to set new classic tracks, so they are still glazed with ice. The trail beyond the groomed sections is ice glazed.

Groomed from golf course to old 32. They had an ice glaze but the grooming broke it up nicely. Fast conditions. Thanks to the groomers!

I classic skied and my wife skated for over 20 miles of smiles! The skate deck was groomed this morning and we had fresh corduroy to ski on. The classic tracks are deep and well defined, but accumulating more and more leaves and tree debris north of the old 32 parking lot. If you classic, use your waxless skis. Get out early while it's good!

Tom and Lloyd groomed this morning resulting in an excellent skate deck. The abundance of snow is evidenced by the robust classic tracks throughout the system. An excellent day at this very scenic location. Please donate at the trail heads; maintenance creates overhead.

Skied the south end of the course, it was firm, fast and fun. The golf course was freshly groomed, and in the woods - the trail was still firm and fast. Classic tracks were solid with a few leaves in them.

Beautiful! We kicked everything north of Macaslin Brook in 28 degrees under a sunny sky this morning. Deep set tracks; great looking skate deck; a few pesky leaves here and there, but all in all, worth the drive. The base of the trail looks to be more than 12" thick. Carpe Skiem!
