Skied south of CR65. Extensive system, marked with signs. The #5 marker map is not accurate, the dot says #6, the pole is correct. Fresh snow still abounds. Well worn in tracks, easy long ups and downs. #2 to #4 closed due to a removed bridge.

Trail was fantastic, fresh powder, no debris. Had no problem staying with the track even with several inches new snow.

Forest debris on tracks (high winds last Friday), didn't see classic tracks past warming shed. I'm an average skier, 35-40 minutes to shed. Could use a re-groom but still very skiable. Fun ski, will ski it again this season.

Skied section 8/7/6. Perfect condition. No debris. Track is really good, newly groomed. This place is my new fav.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
Cleaned up the trail with a fresh grooming and track setting. Most of the trail was quite packed down from people snowshoeing and the local animals but we were able to fill in most of the snowshoe and animal tracks and the trail is almost as good as new. Some sections better than others currently so we will need to wait for some more snow in order to get it back to a pristine condition. Still a beautiful setting and conditions are still better than average for a backcountry ski.

These trails have not been groomed in awhile but for the most part that didn't negatively affect the 3 hour ski today. The most pristine portion of this system was west of the river where perhaps 3 skiers preceded me. The rest of the system reflected high demand from well intended snow shoe folks, their dogs, numerous deer and the animals that hunt them, as well as toboggans from campers utilizing the north shelter area. This is an extraordinary area that has drastically reduced the amount of groomed trails available from 3 to 4 years ago, but nonetheless is still worth the trip.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
The snow was perfect this morning for setting fresh tracks at Sturgeon! We had a great time grooming them and hope you have a great time skiing them. Get out there and shred on some sick pow!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
New tracks on the ground! After this weeks wind the trail was begging to be groomed. Should be set up nicely by tomorrow and ready for a nice ski through the woods. All three parking lots are plowed. Very small amounts of debris left visible on trail (mainly pine needles under the beautiful Norway Pines).

With fresh new snow it’s a winter wonderland out there. Skied north and middle loops. Thanks U. S. Forest Service.

Lots of debris, and trail was washed out from wind. Good in spots where there was mostly deciduous growth. Still, a beautiful day to be in the woods! Lots of sunshine, little wind, and even heard rushing water as I went by the river in one spot on the south loop off Co Rd 65 parking lot.
