Trails are looking great again after a good amount of snow last weekend. New tracks on all open sections should set up really nice for the weekend. Great backcountry ski trail!

Trail has been groomed and new tracks have been laid. Should set up real nice after cold temps. May be some more drifting in open areas from this wind but the sheltered sections should be great!

Trail needs grooming, tracks are visible, with an inch of snow to push through. General conditions are fair, plenty of snow.

We skied the north trail up to the shelter. The tracks were ok but the high winds from the previous days blew lots of needles, small sticks, and debris on the trail. It was cold but still very nice to get out.

Excellent day, trails in good to fair condition. Some debris due to winds. Skied the south trails, section 8/7/6. No icy spots.

Really nice conditions for a new set of tracks. The base is nice and firm and there is minimal debris on the trails. Still having some illegal ATV use on the north portion of the trail west of the river but hopefully that will end now. ATV ruts made it hard to get a nice straight track set but at least its better than it was before trying. Enjoy the Backwoods feel on this trail!

About 4 more inches of fresh snow earlier in the week made for great grooming conditions. Set a new classic track to the two shelter and throughout the center figure eight trails.

This snow did the trails good! The snow packed nicely and the tracks should set up great overnight. Have fun out there, happy new years!

Snow is still quite thin after the warm weather and rain we got a few weeks ago. Especially under the evergreens it’s very thin. Groomed what was there so at least we will have a nice flat base moving forward into the middle of winter. Probably won’t be able to groom again until we get another 4-6 inches.

Around 1 foot of light fluffy snow fell on the Sturgeon River trail system on Sunday! The trails have been packed but not yet groomed. A partial trail closure remains in effect for this season. For more information regarding the closure, you can visit the forest service website, Alerts and Notices section.
