Evening
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Got in a sunset ski, to try out the classic tracks. Conditions are pretty good, where present- tracks are not present on the tail end of green and at the start and finish of the loops. We tried all but the extra red portion. In general, pretty good, especially considering the cold temps and snow levels. The two side-by-side tracks had a few twigs and branches in them at times, and the occasional leaf, but nothing insurmountable. I think the two sets of track may be impinging a bit much on the skate lane (and the second set isn't actually necessary), but we did enjoy being side by side when possible. The footprints typically found at Neshota were still present, but seem fewer in number than normal- must be the cold temps! A great time overall, and much appreciation to the grooming crew!

[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Pleasantly surprised at the good conditions of the trails. Nice double track set on the system - medium depth with a few shallow spots. Temperatures in the single digits, but other than the trailhead by the shelter you are out of the wind. Hope to return tomorrow for some more skiing.

Skied Saturday before the 1.5" we had overnight. Occasional roots and sand could be dodged with happy feet. Groomers did a great job with what they had to work with. New snow should upgrade conditions. No classic tracks yet.

[ Trails Open: All, Rock skis ]
I skied the trails several times over the past week. As of Sunday there was still enough cover for skate skiing (no tracks set for classic yet) but each day reveals a little more debris and rocks that you may want to navigate around.

Skated two loops on the Red trail Saturday mid-morning. The base was adequate and recently groomed for skating but no classic tracks had been set yet.

Trails were well groomed though a bit soft. Excellent conditions for such little snow. Minimal debris coming through but you could tell that your poles would hit rock beneath the snow when planted. Recommend rock skis. The minimal debris was still enough to gouge out some p-tex on one of my bases. Recommend using your rock skis.
