Lower trails along the Rum River nicely set with a decent base and a few inches of recent snow. Very cold but sun was out and the sections along the river get great sun exposure for cold temperatures. Some sections of the trails up in the hills that are intermediate and expert are fairly rugged with some chunky debris lurking underneath and do not have good tracks down especially for some of the steeper hills. Definitely dicey and not the best for steep downhills.

We took a nordic field trip to Kathio State Park this afternoon. Got on the beautiful classic ski trails at 3 pm. Fair conditions. Leaves and some debris in segments from the recent grooming of tracks. Still fun to have a break from the man made snow. There is definitely snow accumulation an hour north of the cities. This trip took 1 hour 40 minutes north on 169. Fun on skin skis.
