Firsthand: Classic
[ Good skis ]
Started skiing at 3:00 pm with my wife Gayle. We both used are Atomic Pro waxless skis and were quite pleased with the conditions. Basically no debris on trails and upper trails in the woods still in great shape. Good luck and good skiing!

Spring skiing at its finest on the manmade snow loops today. The half inch of new snow on the groomed trails resulted in a variety of skiing surfaces that continues to transition in the warmth and sun. Some slushy spots, with faster conditions in the shaded areas. Lots of families out here today enjoying a great ski day. Note that the manmade snow loops still have a consistent base of 6 to 12 (and more) inches of a solid ice base.

Very firm conditions for skate on the manmade loops today. The cold temps really hardened the corduroy. Best areas were where the cord had been broken down to a fine powder. Woods Loop is the best. Magic Carpet is great. Tracks are very firm and looked icy - good for double poling.

The Piston Bully was out touching up the skate deck. The classic tracks were left as is and should be in good condition all things considered. The skate deck is in great condition. We have had 90+ days of skiing this year at lapham thanks to the man made loops. Not bad considering we haven't seen that much natural snow.

Once again, excellent conditions for skate and stride on the manmade loops this morning. Mark had the Pisten Bully out again last night and left us a nice corduroy surface that is breaking down to a deeper powdery layer on the icy base. Downhills and playground loops are super fun. A new double set of tracks was set on the inside of the trail, which provided a different feel to the whole trail system. Come on out today, tomorrow, and Sunday for some great spring skiing.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Partial, B skis ]
Thanks to all the people that donated to the friends of lapham snowmaking we are still skiing. The Piston Bully was out tilling the skate deck and resetting the classic track. We still have full coverage and there is very little ice. The trails are in great condition. Come out and enjoy, our days are limited.

Excellent conditions for skate on the manmade loops this morning. The Pisten Bully left a firm corduroy surface that skied like a dream. Very little debris or ice. The cooler temps have kept the powdery surface from becoming slushy. Tracks are variable - some looked good, others are icy, and there are some bad spots. Playground loops are in great shape. Magic Carpet and Summerstage Hill are fast, fun, and safe. Come on out and enjoy it while it lasts.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Partial, B skis ]
Thanks to all the volunteer snowmakers (who put all the right snow in all the right places) we are still skiing on the man made loop. There is still full coverage with only a small stretch of ice going up summer stage hill. The skate deck was tilled and is in great condition. The classic track was reset all the way around the outside of the loop. The track is full depth with some ice on the bottom. Grooming will continue as conditions allow. Enjoy!

Generally good but variable conditions for skate on the manmade loops this morning. A bit icy early but softening under the sun as the day progressed. Watch out for the transitions from sun to shade, and ice to slush. Still, a beautiful day to be out skiing. Come out here tomorrow for another one.
