Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, Rock skis ]
Over a couple dozen skiers out today, happily enjoying the great weather in the low 30s and mostly sunny with no wind. No recent grooming, although two clippers have passed through the region, dumping three inches of fluffy snow. I skied the Brown and Red loops five times each. It was the fifth time on the Red loop that I hit a rock on the downhill after the 1.5-mile marker that did some damage to my rock skis. They are my rock skis, so no biggie, and I was able to fix most of the damage. There are rocks out there in several spots, just lurking below the surface, so beware if you ski there. The stream is frozen over. Grade C- for rock skiing, F for good skis. Scenery/weather: A.

1 PM Saturday 14 degrees, snow depth 2in. Skated the red trail. Decent ski deck. Sadly, some humans and their dogs have been walking on the trail. The divots are down to the base ice layer and has made strides and glides less ideal. I'm sure they can be groomed out. Use caution.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Rock skis ]
All trails have been groomed, no tracks set. There are thin areas throughout, but the overnight 0.5"-1" snow helped the skate deck groom up nicely. Rocks and ground debris are still apparent on yellow.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Rock skis ]
All trails have been groomed -- no track set. Some areas still with 1-2inch snow, but there are many thin areas throughout all trails. The first half of yellow is very thin with a handful of bare spots. Rocks are becoming exposed, especially on hills.

Zillmer is in bad shape. Lots of rocks emerging everywhere, except the Brown trail. Some good areas, but pretty thin in many others. Lots of cones in the pines. Grooming hasn't occurred in about a week. I was careful and my skis were fine, but I won't go back until we get another snowstorm. I give the conditions D-.

[ Trails Open: Most, Rock skis ]
Skied all trails except the first part of the yellow. Red and brown are pretty good. Rocks on the last big down hill on the yellow. Would not recommend it. All trails haven't been groomed since last week.

Thanks groomers for getting out and grooming! Pretty decent conditions. Debris under pines, some dirt here and there. Skied the red to second yellow outer loop, skied the full red, and brown. Red probably the best. Didn't ski the first section of the yellow.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Rock skis ]
All trails have been packed or groomed. The first half of the yellow trail has some very thin sections with very icy conditions or exposed rock. The base is very thin and icy with 0-3 inches of dry snow on top. No tracks have been set due to lack of snow.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ B skis ]
Late afternoon, skied Yellow and Red trails, still lightly snowing. No classical tracks, but freshly rolled except for Yellow past mile roughly 2.5. Looks as though the groomer couldn't make it up a steep hill with some ice underneath, but I didn't have too much trouble. Made it around Yellow with the only issue being a downed tree across the trail at the 4.4-mile mark. Didn't encounter any bare spots, just some sticks and the rare large rock.
