Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Rock skis ]
I groomed the skating lane on the entire red loop today. That loop is still fair to good on about 80% of the loop. The first 1/4 mile and the last 1/4 mile have ice and bare spot issues especially by the evergreens. Suggest rock skis. I did not do anything with the other loops. Conditions are going to go bad quickly in the next week. I have decided to stop grooming for the season. With the plethora of hikers last weekend and a truck that drove on the trail combined with warm temps, I removed the grooming equipment. Hope everyone had an enjoyable season and I will plan on being back next winter.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
I just finished grooming the skating lanes on all loops this morning. The deck was hard packed and icy, so I cut into the top layer to improve the icy conditions. The result was a little chunky but not as icy now. Still excellent conditions on the skate lanes this morning but warm temps will change conditions rapidly. Some debris scattered throughout that is coming up as the snow melts. I did not do anything with the classic tracks, they are solid and icy, use caution. They are in fair condition. I was able to groom much of the pock marks out from hikers and snowshoers that had recently been on the trails. If you see illegal hikers or snowshoers on the ski trails, you can report them to the DNR hotline. At the 4.5 mile marker on the yellow loop, some gravel may start coming through as the snow melts. It is unfinished culvert work.

Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Classic skied this morning and conditions had changed from ideal winter conditions on Sunday morning to spring skiing today. It’s crusty and icy. Tracks are getting thin in sections. Skate deck looked like it was still in very good condition. It was beautiful and great to be out. Try to enjoy it while you can. Thanks to groomers for another great season.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
We received about 1-2 inches of light snow last night. I packed, groomed and tracked all loops this morning. All loops are in excellent condition for skating and classic track skiing. Warm temps this week may change conditions throughout the day.

Plenty of snow and fresh groom. Tracks were fast with no bare spots. Skied entire yellow loop, did not go on any of the other trails except when they overlap at very beginning and end.

Best conditions of the season. Good base. Firm with good gliding conditions. Fully groomed trails with well-defined classic trail. Couldn’t enjoy a better day of skiing.

We skied the red trail and then the brown this morning. Trails and conditions were excellent. Temperature was around 20 degrees. Sun shining - couldn't have had a nicer day to ski. Been skiing these trails for 40 years. Thanks to the groomers as we remember what the trails were like 40 years ago.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
I groomed the skating lanes on all loops this morning. They are in excellent condition. Skaters reported they are fast and fun this morning with good control. I left the classic tracks as is. They are in excellent condition and holding up great. I saw a group of four robins this morning while grooming! Don't know if they forgot to look at the calendar or a sign of early spring. The warming shelter remains closed due to covid restrictions.
