Skied the outer loop, snow was starting to get slushy, so it wasn't a fast ski but coverage is good, I put fresh glide wax on my skins and didn't have any clumping. There is slightly less snow on the lower parts near the nature center but no bare ground or sticks poking out yet. Lots of footprints on the trail here and there but the tracks are in alright shape. A bear walked around the trail quite a bit in spots, keep an eye out if you're interested in animal tracks.

Excellent condition of tracks no glazing just nice kick. All around tracks were basically perfect, picked up at just the right spot around corners. Not very much use at all, these tracks were nice and deep! Very little material on the trail yet.

25F. Snowing, breezy. Fantastic early/late season skiing! Variable natural snow cover due to drifting and last week's melting. Kind of skier groomed but the track is a very nice variable/manageable consistency. In some areas the ground hydrology is showing. Some sticks in the trail but easy to skin over or around. B skis suggested. I found a light grey LLBean neck gaiter on the green loop; left it at the south trail entrance sign. (See photo).

We classic skied Hartley today and all the ice is in the parking lot and NOT on the trails thankfully! Tracks are mostly intact, fast but not icy, with a good amount of debris which is why I put B skis down for those who value their bases. Hartley was well used in 24 hours and the areas without tracks were hard packed, slippery concrete and barely an edge. Someone also walked down the middle leaving deep footprints in places making it challenging for those of us who like to take a ski out and snowplow to slow down. Huge thank you to Darin for all his work grooming yesterday! He made lots of people happy!

Solid midwinter conditions with firm tracks and overall firm pole plants. In a few places the tracks are exceptionally deep from when the tracks were skied in before the snow firmed up I reckon. Minimal debris that's easily avoided.

We classic skied Hartley around 11:15 am today and were very impressed with how great the tracks were! Tracks are deep, intact, minimal debris and that is only at the beginning and one other spot. Trail is free of footprints too. The areas in between the tracks were very hard packed and slippery. Timing is everything. Tracks were just getting soft as we headed out on our last loop. A rather large group of skiers, we thought maybe having a lesson, was heading out as we left.

Skied at dawn this morning and it was great. Trails were nicely groomed, pretty much no debris, and great coverage. It was fast, with as warm as it was, but not icy. Great to get out.
