Fantastic conditions for skiing. The classic tracks were mostly in great shape thanks to the excellent grooming! Some patches of grass due to the wind-blowing the snow over, and a little bit of re-routing past the bridge that connects the two side of the golf course, but easy to navigate.

Groomed and set tracks this evening. Great to have snow again! The trail is mostly excellent, except for several windblown places where grass is showing through. I re-routed around one of the larger grass areas on the east side. The one big problem area is the east side of the bridge; there is some bare pavement and some gravel coming through. You can avoid it, but you'll have to be careful there. The wind had mostly died down by the time I finished setting tracks, so they may actually still be there tomorrow. Enjoy it while we've got it!

So excited Columbia is open again! Most of the trail is pretty hard packed and fast, really fun! There are some spots with drifts that you have to slog through but overall really nice out there and there's a tiny bit of exposed asphalt after the bridge bit it's easy to avoid. Get it while you can! Thank you so so much to the groomers who got out right away and have been working hard to get the trails in good shape! So grateful for you!

The trails were partly drifted over, but still mostly skiable (with some slogging through deep snow). The parking lot near the driving range had no discernible trail so I drove further on St Anthony, turned right at the stop sign and parked in the park parking lot. Then went through an opening in the fence to pick up a skiable trail. I was ready for an adventure and was not disappointed. Hope more grooming happens as wind settles!

Tracks were iffy, except by the picnic area, but they were somewhat there most of the time on the west side of the bridge, where I skied. Drifts weren't bad. No bare spots except by the bottom of the little hill leading back into the driving range where wind had thinned it and sun was breaking through. I went back later and shoveled and packed from a nearby snowdrift. Hope that was okay. Definitely a fun time. Thank you, groomers!

I groomed the skate deck and set tracks on everything except the Northeast loop by Central tonight. It was very windy out there this evening and I'm afraid there won't be much of the tracks left in the morning due to the blowing snow (but they're there I promise!). The skate deck should firm up nice but will have drifts over much of it. Be careful near the bridge as there's exposed asphalt in a few spots. I tried covering what I could by shoveling but the wind is relentless.

Rolled Columbia this afternoon. So nice to have snow again! It was blowing pretty hard which created some windswept areas and some deep drifts. I suspect it will blow over again in sections until the wind lays down. There are a few thin spots but folks were out skiing. I'd be careful with good skis, but think you could be okay with B skis. However, I'm marking it rock skis for the top of the east side by the bridge. Grooming plans: Roll or groom tonight and groom again tomorrow evening.

Skied a portion of the West loop as the grooming was being done. A bit of clumping due to the moisture content. The wind was also drifting over parts of the deck.

Some glaze from this morning, but except for the actual icy-pool areas, it was not too hard to catch an edge. If you start by the driving range, it gets much better than at the start. Even the long western exposure along the hill is covered. There are small dirt and grass spots, but those are avoidable. It's a little trickier to avoid frozen slush with ruts. Not primo, but surprisingly skiable. I only skied the west side of the bridge. Thank you to the groomers!

I groomed out the very rough roll job from last week. I was not able to set tracks. The skate deck groomed out nicely for the most part. There are quite a few easily avoidable grass patches, and there is some pavement showing through on and near the bridge. Should be easy to avoid if you are careful. There are also several patches of frozen slush that did not groom out nicely. These tend to be at the bottom of hills, so beware and be careful around these. Other than these the deck looked fast and firm.
