While Columbia's days are obviously numbered, conditions were still far better than I expected. Overall, there is still decent cover over about 99% of the loop and there wasn't really any outrageously icy or flooded spots except for around the final corner near the main club house where there is a large sheet of ice. You could probably squeeze a couple more days out of the loop, but if you want to get out and say your final goodbyes, I wouldn't delay. Big shout out to the groomers for keeping Columbia up and running this winter!

I've skied worse! :-D Let's see, packed (hard to catch an edge in many areas), icy in spots, nice in spots. I was there at noon. Water was just starting to be noticeable all along that western hillside. The ice will likely be slush by later afternoon. The construction tracks toward the base of the big hill have visible sand in the snow and ridges right across the trail. Otherwise icy spots and debris were the only ski concern I saw. Glad I went earlier.

Thanks so much to our fabulous crew of volunteer groomers, the trail was looking great considering we are entering the back half of March! It appears they groomed last night or early this morning. The skate deck had a nice edge, and while the classic track was inevitably getting skied off in many places, I still got a nice kick in most places.

Groomed the skate deck and set tracks this morning. Tracks are thin to excellent due to drifting snow. The course has a few short icy spots but mostly avoidable which is why I'd recommend B skis and encourage caution. Aside from those sections the course looks great. Come ski a perfect spring day at Columbia. Enjoy.

Groomed and set tracks this morning. The tracks and the skate deck vary but have some decent sections. The winds are gusty and have wind blown a few icy spots and are piling snow elsewhere. Just ski with caution and enjoy!

Groomed the skate deck and set classic tracks this morning. You might not see much evidence of the classic tracks, they will be drifting in pretty quickly where the snow was soft enough to set a deep track, and they're very shallow elsewhere. The skate deck looked pretty good though! Beware of a rough patch on the way down the big hill, they are doing some work on the golf course and some vehicles have driven across the trail.

Overall really solid skiing yesterday. Snow was pretty quick even though the winds made it a little rough going. Only a couple icy/thin patches around but easily avoidable. Classic tracks were about as good as they can be-a little icy-but were fine for double poling on my skate skis.

Overall great tracks classic skiing today. A few spots were blown over with wind and a few very short spots were icy. The wind started picking up as I was finishing, so the tracks might get a bit more blown over.

Pretty much perfect conditions at Columbia right now. Firm skate deck and great looking tracks all the way around. Get it before it melts!
