Good blast of snow with cold to help set things up - groomed to perfection today. Excellent striding and the skate deck looked firm. The Ely Nordic Wolves had a great day for their practice!

The Bomba and Sommer trails were in great shape. The classic track was generally in good shape, just a little shallow in a few areas.

Skied the Bambas Loop, third time this week, noticing a large turnout from the local high school teams at training. A quick inch-and-a-half of snow and a slight warm up nicely lubricated things compared to earlier in the week, and my blue waxed skis had a bit more glide as a result. Still coming back from injury so out of shape but had a great time. Well up to top tier skis as of now but classic tracks are set quite shallow due to the thin base. Most debris now covered up by the fresh snow. Extremely impressive job by the trail groomers to have kept things this strong given the weather of the past month.

Skied Bambas, Manlove, and Birch Highlands. Skate deck was freshly groomed; the corduroy was nice and firm. Classic tracks were set on the Bambas loop and Birch Highlands and varied from shallow to medium depth. Only minor debris in the tracks here and there (just twigs, no rocks). Had a fantastic time. Thank you, groomers, for such well-maintained trails!

Fast and crusty. Skied the Bambas loop and the Sommer Loop. Although the Ely Nordic trails page said Bambas had been groomed for classic skiing, the only tracks set were on the southern half of the loop. The groomed tracks were all pretty shallow. Great to be out again, Ely has plenty of snow base, just need some fresh snow for optimal grooming.

Great conditions after the rain and warm weather. Groomed for skate, almost all trails open. The groomers did an excellent job, some debris on the trail, but I didn't see any rocks.

Impeccable grooming and well maintained trails. Skied Bambas and Pine Valley loops. A bit of a confusing intersection at the end of Bambas showing one direction green and the other direction both green and blue. Both loop you right back to the parking lot so either way you can't go wrong.

Lovely conditions, enough snow for complete coverage. The classic track was firm and fast. Thanks to the groomers for leaving space between the classic track and the edge, so classic skiers don't have to dodge the brush. Skied Bambas and Sommer loops.

Great early season conditions! The trails were rolled. I hit one rock skiing 5k. For the most part it was just grass sticking through the snow.
