Skied Birch Highland, Hang on Tight and Voyageurs. Skate deck was icy in the morning but softening as the sun hit it. Not much depth left but no bare spots and clean skate deck. Excellent grooming with what's out there. No classic tracks set as there's clearly not enough there to work with. Looked like classic tracks were set on Pine Valley. But with the temps ahead, this won't last long without some new snow.

Good conditions with solid tracks. There was not much trail debris. Faster than expected in the cold weather. Great trails, great fun in spite of below zero temperatures! Consistently great trails for both skate and classic. I would have liked to have seen it groomed for the weekend, but still well worth the trip!

All trails open except Pine Park, Deer, and Hannahs. Skied all. Excellent cover. Very firm skate deck. Shallow tracks with some soft sides. Perfect day except for the cold.

Freshly groomed early this morning. Thank you to the groomer on a holiday! Absolutely beautiful. Skate tracks just waiting for skiers.

Good ski at Hidden Valley. I classic skied in the morning. Tracks were in good shape. Only one spot I lifted a ski to avoid some debris. My wife had a tougher time skating as the deck had frozen rock solid overnight and it was difficult to get an edge for a good push off. There was one spot out on the Sommer's loop with some exposed dirt that was easily skied around. After a short break for lunch skate conditions improved as temps warmed and the sun softened the deck just enough. The groomer had been out and scratched things up a bit too though not too deep as I suspect they are preserving their base while they wait for more snow. The Birch Highlands were heaven on skis. I love this place! Great trails, grooming and maintenance. Out of the way but well worth the trip!

Yesterday's 3" snowfall upgraded our trails from rock skis to B skis. Most trails are open but no tracks set... yet. Snow in the forecast, so we may be setting track soon.

Great skiing today. Groomers did a stellar job with the few inches of snowfall from Friday. A few bare spots and some pine needles but nothing that slowed us down. Great skiing today!

Hidden Valley had good, albeit rock ski, conditions. There are no tracks set, but over half the skiers were classicing. The outer loops, Bambas and Sommers, were thin but skiable with care. The best skiing was right down the middle on Birch Highlands. Check the bulletin board for "groomers choice." Pine Park was closed.
