[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
Jack Lake trails were in good shape on a pretty day. Plenty of snow cover. There is a half inch of snow/sleet over corduroy and it skis well. Tracks were well set and firm. A significant portion of trails were ungroomed, for reasons unknown. The warming hut is clean and inviting.

Skated Jack Lake in 30 degree temps just after a fresh 1 inch snowfall. Beautiful, flat and firm. Carpe Skiem!

[ Trails Open: Partial ]
Our Jack Lake Silent Sports Association met Wednesday night in the chalet. Some members had just returned from skate skiing. They reported a recently groomed hard fast smooth track, .... as much fun as they have ever had.

Fun striding at Jack Lake today! Well groomed, very firm, tons of snow and nicely tracked. Approximately 20% of the trail network is open. The balance of the trail closed due tree damage from the epic July ‘19 wind storm. This place is such a gem! Always well groomed and the warming shelter at the trail head is the envy of many tracks. Worth the trip. Carpe Skiem!

Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: Partial, Good skis ]
Classic tracks are firm and skate deck is solid--although may have softened later when it got above 32 degrees. Trees still have snow on from recent storm. Warming shelter is open, but only three loops are available due to windstorm damage from July.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: Partial, Good skis ]
Arrived just as the groomer headed out. Skiing was excellent as the groomer was able to clean up all of the damage from snow shoes and walkers from prior days. Unfortunately due to tree damage only a portion of the trails are open. None of the outer loops are open.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic Observation
[ Trails Open: Partial, Bare ground ]
No tracks set on the portions that are groomed, only made it a 1/2 mile before logging activities have made the trails unsuitable for skiing. Also trees down on the trail to the west blocking it. Did not look groomed past the fallen tree.

Observation
Plenty of snow at Jack Lake! Parking lot is not plowed and the trails are not groomed. I estimate there is 16-20 inches of snow. Can't wait for this gem to open up for the season! Carpe Skiem.
