It was our first time to do the complete 18 K loop and we found it mostly very good, especially the Lone Rock Loop and the Wetlands Loop which had solid deep double tracks. In a few places the grass showed through the bottoms of the tracks, but most of the time it was possible to ski over it. There were sections with lots of walker prints, but they didn't destroy the integrity of the tracks. I appreciated that the groomer had not set tracks on the hills. The only significant problems were on the northeast side of the Farm Loop, where a vehicle had driven between the horse trailer parking lot and the road crossing connecting to the Lone Rock loop, leaving deep ruts. There were similar deep ruts from a rogue driver on the trail on the south end of the Farm Loop, just before the road crossing by the connector to the Whitetail Woods system. Other than that, it was a very enjoyable ski.

We began skiing around 10:30 AM when no grooming had yet taken place, but passed the groomer setting the base a couple miles into our trip. We passed the groomer doing a second pass just before the end of our loop, still setting the base, so any track setting happened after we left. Overall snow conditions were good, but there were some short icy spots on high windblown ridges and also some vegetation and soil poking through the groomed base in areas with less snow. We skied the Farm Loop and Lone Rock Loop, but we saw the groomer turn down the Wetland Loop, so we presume all trails have been groomed.
