Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
We had a bit of a late start today... knowing the temps were rising. The trail was initially not freshly groomed but skiers had skied in the 2 inches or so of fresh snow, so good coverage. The old tracks were still visible so you could hop in them. A few oak leaves were in the track, which only became an issue when the temps rose and those leaves caused you to bog down. On our return trip the groomer had just passed by and that really made a huge difference, it seemed like he was able to pull up the colder snow and also set the track. Clear sailing after that, no sticking and much faster ski back to the start. Thank you groomer! All in all felt like a good spring ski day.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
The out of town crew got to work as soon as they arrived! Full trail system is open, classic tracks are set and all cut offs are groomed. Groomed all the way to Barnes Road Trailhead if you want to park on that side! Enjoy the skiing this weekend! Light snow was still coming down so expect a light layer of snow over some great corduroy!

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: Partial, B skis ]
I skied classical on the Blue and some of the yellow trails. The trail has been rolled but not groomed and has not been touched since the 3 inches of snow a few nights ago. It has been cleaned up by local volunteers and there was little to no sticks and branches on the trail that i skied. I followed an earlier skier's classic tracks with no problem. Note: the snowshoe trails look to be in excellent shape.

Secondhand
Recent report from the Friends of Tomahawk Lake Park states that the trails are currently closed and will need to be cleared of trees and branches from the snowstorm just prior to Thanksgiving. A volunteer day is scheduled for Sunday December 7th starting at 9am at the park trailhead to focus on clearing the trails such that grooming can proceed. Stop by and help clear this amazing trail network.
