Observation Scheduling
[ Trails: Closed ]
Recent rains and melt has caused the end of the ski / snowshoe season. Trails are snow covered, however flooded in areas. The nature center will be closed on Saturday through next Tuesday, as rapid spring melt and rains is causing problems with our entrance and parking lot.

Observation
[ Trails Open: All ]
Trails were groomed last weekend. People have been classic skiing. The freshie left over on the skate deck has glazed over due to thaw/re-freeze cycles. Where snowshoe traffic is most prevalent, however, the trail actually appears to be quite skateable. For me, at present Navarino is more of a destination for snowshoe-running, for which there is an awesome system of singletrack hike trails, until skiing conditions improve with the next snowstorm ... fingers crossed.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
All ski and snowshoe trails on Navarino have been renovated with tracks reset where needed. Trails are in great conditions with a nice base for the upcoming weekend. Some sections of ski trail are double tracked to provide out and back access to trails, skate ski deck is still plenty wide. Sledding hill is ready to keep the children occupied when not on the trails. No Trail Fees. Donations to offset grooming expenses. Rentals are available.

Firsthand
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Classic skied the entire outside loop. Tracks were in good shape first time. Nice flowy trails. Appears they saw heavy traffic Saturday snowshoers and hikers were walking on skate lanes near the warming house. I didn't see any signs discouraging such activity so I don't know what their policy is.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Another 3-4" of fluffy snow overnight. Volunteer groomers groomed from 8:30 am to 2 pm. All trails are open and ready for skate and traditional cross country skiers. Great season! Lots of skiers and snowshoers out today. With the cold the trails should be great for a while. Great late season skiing. Donations towards grooming is greatly appreciated. No trail fees for use of trails.
