Plenty of snow out there for good skis. Had a very peaceful skate on the beautiful trails. Skate deck was firm and a bit rutted with a 1/2 inch of snow on top that slowed things down, particularly compared to yesterday's Birkie conditions. Classic tracks were good if a bit crusty.

0.5-1 inch new snow on top of skate was slower than yesterday. Very solid base underneath. Classic tracks were probably set at least several days to a week ago.

Hasn't been groomed for a bit but I had a very pleasant classic ski. There are a few inches of fresh snow on top of a crusty base. Skier made classic tracks that were not icy at all. Skate would probably be good too. Love these trails.

This has been a great start to the ski season in the Hayward/Cable/Seeley area. The Seeley Hills ski area has been cleared of downed brush and trees and is fully groomed with a classic track. The adjoining fat bike trails are partially opened and with work continuing. A real gem of a local ski area.
