Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
The trails where freshly groomed this morning. Due to the warm temperatures, the base is turning sticky and soft in some spots. The campground loop track and base are quite thin. Good cover overall with occasional debris. Get out and enjoy before they melt!

Over 3 inches of snow fell overnight. Finished grooming trails by noon - snow packed nicely with track set. Best trail conditions this year. Annual Stickers can be purchased at the drive up window at forest headquarters - 8:00am - 4:00pm Tue., Wed., Sat. and Sun.

Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
I classic skied the Brown loop a few times in the late afternoon. The tracks are showing a lot of wear and tear and are washed out in a lot of places, many of the curves. The skate track was packed down from use and didn't appear to have been groomed today, so when I used it on some downhill/curved sections, I would slide to one side if it had a side-to-side slope. It was still an enjoyable, scenic workout, but I think the trail could use regrooming.

About 1 inch of snow fell overnight. Training new groomer, skate lane could be a little bumpy. Track set and trails are in excellent condition.

Afternoon
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
All trails groomed and track set on Monday. Trails are in amazing shape with a firm skate deck without ice and a cleanly developed classic track set. Snow conditions are great for a fast ski. The only downfall with this years great snow season is the abundant deer prefer walking on the ski trail vs the deep snow :) Silly deer ski trails are for skiers only.

I skied everything today and the conditions were the best I have ever seen here. Not crowded due to the low temps, which improved things for me. There are a couple spots as you approach the campground loop that are drifted over, and all the usual spots are washed out -- mostly the off camber bits before the astronomy cutoff. Really nice job on the perfectly groomed trails, thanks so much groomers!

Trails where groomed (track set) this morning, after receiving a fresh 4 inches last night. The current windy conditions are creating minor drifts, especially in the open areas.

Classic skied the brown, blue, and campground loops a couple of times each right after the trails had been groomed around midday today. They were somewhat soft after the 6 inches of new snow, but it was still a fun ski for Joanie and I. Light snow was still falling as we skied, creating a winter wonderland. Thanks for today's timely grooming report from the park, and your excellent and highly visible sign at the trailhead that hikers and dogs are not allowed on the ski trails. This sign should be a model for all state park and forest properties (and other trails) to use.
