Last night's snow was great packing snow and added an additional 2-3 inches to the base of the trails. Both skate and classic tracks are in very good condition. Due to the need for several passes to groom the entire trail tread, and the depth and heavy texture of the snow, the skate lane is somewhat uneven but fairly firm.

Hartford received around 4 inches of snow over night. Trails where groomed and tracked this morning for both classic and skating. The snow is very dry and crumbly, making it a little challenging for a perfect groom.

So appreciative this trail is so close and it is groomed. There is a hump in the middle of the trail on the skate side, meaning your right ski doesn't lay flat. There are a few spots as well where it is soft, way on the left side, I sank in a few times.

All trails (traditional and skating lanes) where groomed this morning and are in good shape. I set the teeth down on the groomer to fluff up the hard, compacted snow from the heavy weekend traffic. The track is a little thin underneath the pines and you will find some scattered debris on the trails.

Hartford received around 4 inches of wet snow last night. The wet snow is very heavy on the trees and branches, which unfortunately laid a lot of debris on the trails. Besides the debris here and there, both the traditional and skating lanes are in good shape. I would expect more branches to fall throughout the day.

Pike Lake has made some nice improvements to their trail system. The first notable one was a neon sign at the trailhead stating no hiking or dogs on groomed ski trails. This sign seemed to have helped reduce the amount of hikers on the trails. The other nice improvement was they have a sign indicating a second moderate option to going down the descent near the end of the loop. This seemed to keep the original, more steep descent in much more controllable condition as it wasn't churned up and rutted. The new moderate option was fun going down as well. The skate lane has set up nicely. It is firm with nice control. There is a small ridge in the middle of the skate lane at the start of the trail, but that evened out about a quarter way through. Thank you for all the improvements!

Trails groomed today. Fresh powdery snow from last weekend created a great surface to the minimal base layer from previous snows. Both traditional and skate lanes are in good shape.

Over 6 inches of snow fell overnight. The trails were groomed at 3:00pm to a 4 inch base with track set. Conditions are excellent.
