Morning
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
The trails are in good condition. They have been groomed recently. There are some areas where there are leaves or debris on the trails from the workday. They were burning piles today.

Groomed today, tracks a little soft but should firm up overnight. Classic skied only, trails too narrow for skating. Beautiful scenery and animal tracks.

For yellow loop at trailhead #2: Full coverage, would rate it excellent except for some oak leaves, bark and other biota in the tracks. Tracks are breaking down a bit in some areas.

Decided to head to Camrock to skate ski today. All trails were groomed. Excellent if you are classic skiing. If you are skating the trails are very narrow. It's hard to not skate into the classic tracks. Went out onto the trail that runs between Cambridge and Rockdale, and this was better. Looks like the groomer did two passes. People are starting to walk on it though. All in all pretty nice skiing. Thanks for grooming!

We skied the yellow loop. Poor to fair conditions. Plenty of snow but not been tracked for classic striding since recent skiffs and are petered out in places. Big news is that trees are being cut on the trail near the end, covering trail with branches and a few logs. The sawyers were nice and we managed, but still. Skating deck non-existent due to hikers and animals.

Nice solid track and recently combed skate lane on this gem east of Madison. Walkers always an issue at Cam-Rock especially along the creek but make sure to explore the 3 loops off the main two way trail. Had those loops to myself. Been a great season so far in southern Wisconsin.

The trails did not appear to have been groomed since the last big snowfall. The skate deck was obliterated by hikers, but the classical tracks were surprisingly good. Worth the trip if you're striding.
