Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
The trails have been combed and tracks have been set. Conditions are about as good as they get! We groom the trails here for the benefit of our friends and neighbors, using an old Ski Doo Alpine II (single front ski and twin tracks). It's not in great condition, but we've managed to keep it working for years. Today, just as we finished grooming, the fuel line ruptured and gas went everywhere, and caught fire. Thankfully, no one was injured, and we put the fire out quickly. Unfortunately, this will probably be our last grooming report for a while. On a related note, we'd like to give a special shout-out to our draft horses Hank and Barney, for helping to haul the snowmobile off the trails!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Trails have been combed and tracked. Most trails are in good condition. Sylvan Point is a little crustier, due to all the foot traffic. Reminder: for those folks walking your dogs, please keep them on a leash. Thanks, and enjoy skiing!

Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Conditions were mostly decent. Dogwalkers have been over much of Sylvan Point since the trails were groomed yesterday. We were the first skiers on the Forest History Center side of the system, which was mostly in very good condition.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
We finally got out to groom today at 1pm. Snow varies between sublime and subpar. The snow in the few subpar sections is pretty compressed, and our Tidd Tech wasn't able to scratch things up enough to make the track soft and fluffy. We've had to alter our normal ski trails due to our horse-drawn sleigh rides using part of the River Trail. This may be temporary - we'll be looking into cutting a new alternative trail this summer. Get out and enjoy!

Skied as much as I could on the trails. They have been packed with the snowmobile, and in some places, things had been packed down by draft horses pulling a sleigh. In other areas, people had skied in their own tracks.
