Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Very good conditions on the trails at Forest Springs. I got in about an hour of really good classic skiing, then a snow shower of about a half-inch slowed me down. Trails could use more snow, which came last night! Grooming plans: Adam will groom Saturday morning.

Morning
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Most of the loops (17k) were groomed with the PB100 this morning and looked beautiful! The snow is, obviously, very cold and dry, so the glide is not great, so striding is better than skating today. I used my good skis and had no problems even though the snow cover is thin in some places. It's gorgeous out there!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
I groomed the skate lanes this morning with the Ginzu. The classic tracks were already excellent, but the skate lanes were pretty beat up; now it should be fine for skating, also. It was beautiful but a bit cold out there!

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
After getting 7" snow, Adam groomed trails with the PB100. Great classic skiing conditions; not fast but solid tracks and very few thin spots. It was too soft for good skating; I could see skate skis were sinking in (better on the south trails, which were groomed last night).

Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
I skated today because the Pisten Bully groom from Tuesday was beautiful but kinda icy (and no classic tracks). Then I discovered that Adam groomed Skidder and Jammer this morning- the snow cover is thin but really good for skating. The corduroy looks perfect but it's thin, so B skis would be best. Those two trails ( 4km) have some big hills; could be a good Birkie workout.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
Most of the loops were groomed with the PB100 Tuesday morning. No classic tracks yet but the corduroy is firm and solid. I was striding, so tracks would have been nice but there would have been leaves and dirt exposed in the tracks. Just needs a little more snow.

Morning
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: Partial, Rock skis ]
I saw that Adam had groomed at least a few trails so I took my old Atomics out, expecting to add some major scratches. Skiing kinda carefully, l was pleasantly surprised; Glider and Little James trails were pretty good, while Sidewinder and Corker were kinda rough. No new scratches on the ski bases! The 2k trail on James Lake was excellent.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: Partial, Good skis ]
I groomed then skied a loop (2.2 km, classic and skate) around James Lake. Groomed beautifully, with perfect tracks, but then the wind blew snow into about 1/3 of them. The snow was too cold for good glide but the kick wax was great (of course). Grooming plans: Adam plans to pack the ski trails on Wednesday.
