Thanks to CXC for grooming this late in the season. I was in the evening with full sun and slush snow and bare areas here and there, but it was fantastic to be out skiing. The bigger hills on the back side were risky by the time I was out, but there are several good stretches of good snow. We're so fortunate to have this resource in our community. Thanks again!

I skied the Upper/Lower Fields and Pleasant View. The skate deck has good coverage in most areas, but the north end is still thin. This area is marked with a cone, but ski with caution. The combination of temps and packed/ungroomed snow made it more challenging than normal. B skis.

Artificial loop has some really good coverage. There is a thinner area on the north end. The biggest detractor today is the temperature, leading to slow-moving snow. The Golf Course is somewhat groomed, but would recommend rock skis due to thin snow coverage in multiple areas.

The snowmaking loop was groomed for skating and classic using the snowcat. The far north section of the Upper Field Trail remains very thin for approximately 100 meters; please ski with caution in this area. Snowmaking will continue throughout the day and is expected to finish sometime after 3:00 p. m. Due to ongoing snowmaking operations, the Upper Field Trail will be skied out-and-back today: start counterclockwise, and once you reach the west end of the trail, return clockwise. Please note that trails on the Pleasant View Golf Course remain closed. The trails were rolled yesterday, but there was only enough snow to roll them lightly. We need to allow the base to harden, and with a little additional snow later today or later this week, we hope to open the golf course trails soon. The golf course has been a great partner, so please respect this partnership by skiing only when the trails are officially open and following trail report updates. Skiing off designated ski trails or on trails that are closed is prohibited.

Freshly groomed this morning, creating good controllable conditions on the skate deck throughout most of the 1 mile loop. I went counterclockwise around the field. There is one spot in a lower corner where you have to avoid dirt clods and one of the uphills is icy but doable. Classic tracks look extremely variable. Thank you, groomers! So glad to have CXC!

Skated all open trails (field loops and power line), with overall great grooming and nice conditions. Given the temps and manmade snow a few of the steeper sections were getting a bit sugary by midmorning and a tiny section of underlying ice started to appear in the usual place, and a branch or stone popped up on the outer reaches of the field. Which is why I rated B vs good skis, but if you're careful you could make it through with good skis. Both the small spur of Round-A-Bit and the black diamond micro-loop portion of Solvang's Hill were open and in very nice condition. Many thanks to Yuriy and other groomers for such fantastic work keeping things in tip top condition!

Skated all the open portions (man-made snow) at opening this morning. I am recommending rock skis, but if you keep things to the areas closest to the parking lot you could get away with B skis. There are some icy portions on the way to/as you enter the field loop, so recommend to take care and go slow there, but otherwise easy to get into a groove throughout most of the rest of the circuit. A few portions further out on the field have mixed in rocks and dirt which are nearly unavoidable, but it is amazing what the groomers have managed recent temps and conditions. Many thanks to CXC!

Only the man-made snow loop is open, groomed this morning and overall a firm fast skate deck. HOWEVER there are rocks embedded in the snow and your skis WILL take damage, so don't bring your good skis until we have more snowfall.

Fair conditions for striding. Track was icy, shallow, and sometimes impacted by leaves. Other places it was drifted over. Skating deck was better--looked very solid, but no loose snow for snowplowing. Didn't notice any bare spots that could damage skis, but only skied a short ways near parking lot. Lots of building activity on way to trailhead, but parking is very adequate.
