[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Near perfect conditions today, the only thing holding perfection back was that the trails were freshly groomed and the skate deck was a little soft. I still skated a full loop and then switched to classical and did experience perfect skiing. I've been skiing here for years and have never seen the section of trail through the pines returning to the clubhouse so fully covered, not a speck of green or brown to be seen. Best skiing here in years.

Well, I'd all but given up on any good skiing in the Madison area over the last few years, but PV has been really good so far in 2021 thanks to a lot of late season snowfall. Today was cold with expected slower glide, but the trails were all open and groomed. Skate deck was firm with good edge. Excellent downhill glide and the climbs weren't bad either (Toko Base Performance liquid paraffin Blue/cold worked great today at zero degrees). The only bad part was the lengthened loop near Pleasant View road which was very wind-swept making it difficult to follow the trail but the other loops were frankly excellent. Thanks and kudos to the groomer for maintaining these great local trails.

Just skied the outside loop with friends and it was great. There was a nice track to follow, but it was hard to tell if the trails were groomed or if the tracks were just cut by skiers. Coverage was good throughout the trail. I used V55 Red special for a wax and that was too warm and my skis collected some snow on the bottom. I scraped off some wax and things got better. I really appreciate the rolling hills at this golf course.

Best conditions of the year for coverage. I came by at 11ish and was 1st or 2nd on a lot of the rolled deck. Quite soft, as you'd expect. I stayed on main trails as the outer loops were very soft and a bit narrow. Looked like Northern Paradise out there!

Skied over lunch. Trail was groomed sometime earlier in the day. Great coverage and pretty fast snow. Two pesky thin spots remain under pine trees, however the groomer has done a good job shoveling excess snow on the thin spots to allow skiing over these spots.

Great conditions. Only couple of brown spots and one icy corner. Drifting in the eastern open areas from high winds. Good grooming.

Although not freshly groomed for a mid-afternoon ski, both skate deck and striding tracks were fast and in good shape. Scary incident on an early downhill of the outer loop when an experienced but non-racer skier nearly collided with a fat-tire biker. While “no biking” signs are clearly posted on the ski trail, perhaps there should also be no intersects or larger/better signage to warn cyclists to slow down or yield.

[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Pretty good coverage, a few bare spots. No tracks, just what we intrepid few created, but deck has been rolled. If it stays cold should be good in a day or two.

I skated all trails including CXC portions. Good coverage throughout. Some dirt on the corners and under trees, but avoidable. Lots of people out but social distancing practiced by those I saw. We are so lucky to have good snow and groomers!

Freshly set corduroy at 12:30 today. Skating was mostly excellent, the main trails and the CXC loop was near perfect. There are some dirty spots, the areas under the trees are very icy and can't be avoided. The classical track looked very good for most of the trail with some shallow spots and one messy area at the end of the big loop which had bare grass and ice. I'd give skaters the edge as the deck was more complete than the tracks. Light or photo sensitive sunglasses are recommended. There were areas of the trail with significant glare, I went down one hill hoping the turn was the same as Friday.
