Thanks to everyone involved in grooming and maintaining the ski trail! It was a fantastic ski season on the Irondale Trails! With the warm weather and rain, we are calling it a season! Wood chips are being dropped today - stockpiled for summer trail work. See everyone next November!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Groomed the skate lane. I know I've said this before but that may have been the last grooming run this season. Some of the hills are getting a little thin and it won't take much more bright sun or rain to bring some spots down to bare ground.

Fabulous grooming made for a beautiful weekend of skate skiing. Icy and pretty fast Saturday morning, a few more slower spots developed today. All trails were in decent shape as I finished this afternoon. Some debris because of the wind though.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Scratched up the ice with a couple of passes with the groomer teeth all the way down. Doesn't make for very pretty corduroy but it should ski fairly well. Not enough new snow on top of the ice to attempt setting any classic tracks.

Wonderful conditions out in New Brighton. Groomer has done an outstanding job since our last snowfall, skate deck is rolled and in great condition. There are a few slightly icy portions on the east side. Luckily, due to trees and layout, these are limited to the uphill slopes. I gave the classic tracks a whirl in one section, they are fast and hard. Great skiing up here!

Grooming

Trail is groomed and new classic tracks are set. With warm weather ahead, I think the classic tracks have a life expectancy of about 48 hours. Guessing they won't be reset again this season.

Firsthand: Freestyle Secondhand
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
2-3 inches of fresh, decently fast snow on top of a hard base. If you're looking for an adventure, follow the skate tracks off-piste for some picturesque crust skiing along the creek. I believe this was planned to be the last week of grooming. With numerous skiers still hitting the trail, hopefully the groomer can be encouraged (goaded?) into doing one more run!

Snow quality was good. Trail was in fine condition for skating, but was not groomed for classic. I left just as it began to snow.

Great coverage, there's snow everywhere. Today's ski around these trails showed great grooming, no icy spots, just an even (though soft) skate deck throughout. That snow is slow and it wants to grab your edges so now is the time to work on technique.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Groomed the entire trail this morning. Did not set any classic tracks. Should ski pretty well, but I don't think you'll set any pr's as the snow is pretty slow and sticky.
