Afternoon
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Fresh wet snow has been groomed best we can. Some low wet spots, but overall coverage is thin but pretty good. One last stand out here this winter.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Partial, B skis ]
Surprisingly good skating conditions considering that trail was like before. Only a couple brief sections with ice underneath that you would want to DP through. Thanks, Mitch!

Afternoon
Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, Rock skis ]
Made a few passes on the outer loop. As expected, variable coverage, but many low-lying spots with ice underneath. Be very careful, but I know if it's groomed, folks will go out. Really just hoping to get some of this snow to bond to the ice underneath. I tried to groom off the standard routes where possible, but there is still ice that cannot be avoided. The inner loop is more challenging to avoid steep, icy hills and just isn't worth working with right now.

Morning
Observation
[ Trails Open: All, Rock skis ]
With over a half inch of rain and warm temps this week there are solid ice ruts and many sections of water ice on the trail. Nothing our equipment can do with this until we get some fresh snow to cover and bond to the ice underneath. We will get back at it when we Mother Nature gives us some love.

Morning
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
I skied inner and outer loops with classic technique. Many stretches with leaves in the classic tracks. Grass, dirt and cart paths/pavement exposed in many areas. [One small stretch groomed to bypass this] Heard pole tips contacting pavement several times.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Finally groomed! Classic tracks were good, not great. The skate deck looked a little soft and well used. Definitely some blown debris around. Occasional icy patches and grass sometimes poking through.

We are back up and running with huge thanks to the guys in the shop for coming in to get us repaired before the weekend. Groomed for skate and classic. Glad to be a back up and going, - enjoy the weekend skiing.

Observation Scheduling
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
We are awaiting parts from the track manufacturer in Canada. When we get them, we will get up and running as soon as we can. In the meantime we kindly ask our patrons to ask Santa for more snow and less rain. I am impatiently waiting like everyone else!

Afternoon
Observation Secondhand
[ Trails Open: All ]
Stopped by the U and had a look. The groomer is still out of action (broken axle) and sitting beside the parking lot. There are skier made classic tracks and the start of the outside loop looks somewhat packed by skaters. I didn't see any tracks heading towards the inside loop. I asked at Finn Sisu about plans for groomer repair and the guys hadn't heard anything but are hopeful. They also confirmed that the groomer has a broken axle.

I was here last week and it was pretty great; Today not so much - no grooming at all :( I don't recommend.
