Firsthand: Classic

Would rate trails as fair, but still worth coming to ski. There is a couple inches of new snow on top of a hard base. Don't be discouraged by the conditions at the parking lot--the trails improve after the warming shelter. While there are no machine set tracks, skiers have made their own. Skaters have also been able to utilize the trails. The new snow has covered most of the leaves, so that is no longer a problem.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Only the large center loop and the aspen loop on SW end were groomed late Sunday afternoon. No tracks were set. The other loops have about 2 inches of snow on top of hard packed ungroomed trail. Its been pretty windy, so there are quite a few sticks, leaves, and pine cones on the trail surface.

Icy and rock hard, need snow. I did not ski but I walked the snowshoe trails and my husband ran on the ski trails. No tracks set. It was reported to me that the equipment for track setting is not working.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
All loops were groomed recently and are in very good condition for skate skiing, you bet, except that it was windy yesterday and there are leaves on the course. There are also boot tracks down the middle of the skate deck. There are no tracks for classic skiers.

What a nice ski at sunset. Recently groomed and firm. Great corduroy. No track set. Hayward's hidden gem! Nice place to ski with your dog.

Firsthand: Freestyle

The main loop is recently groomed and in good condition, you bet, but the side loops are beat up and skiing is less pleasant. There are no tracks for classic skiers on any of the loops.

Night
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
All the trails were groomed (power tilled) with The Little Red Pony T2 late Friday night set a track and groomed the sledding hill also. With all the snow we received I expected a bit more base, probably averages out to 1-4" grass showing through track in some places so new skis not recommended. A bit soft conditions right now but all in all, pretty decent skiing. Go have some fun!
