Jackson Meadow is one of my favorite spots, and as usual, trails were groomed in good condition with plenty of snow as a bonus. No classic track set, but all trails except the southwest woods were groomed. Spring conditions with a bit of soft snow, occasional slick spots, etc. yet overall still very good coverage all under sunny skies! Spring skis recommended due to blown debris on the trail. Glad I made the trip to enjoy the fun, rolling hills of Jackson!

Almost all of the trails were scratched up Friday night and the skate deck looks really good. No classic tracks are left. Have not hit the trails to the SW yet, so avoid those until the snow warms up because they are icy.

Trails are packed and tracked. The wind brought some leaves and debris but otherwise trail conditions are excellent!

If you know what you are in for then you are probably good. I saw no map on the trails so look at a map before you go. The parts back in the woods are very tight for skate skiing with very steep up and downhills. There was some debris on the trails and parts where it was icy. Then out in the meadow it was wide but it didn't set up well so there were spots I was falling.

After a quick try at William O'Brien, I came back to Jackson. I skied the whole area. All of the skate deck was consistent and firm. The multi-use section held up great to footprints (even a deer) hardly left a mark and yet it wasn't icy. The grooming mixed the glaze into the surface perfectly. Double polling in the track felt great and fast.

All trails (other than the SW loops) have been freshly groomed and tracked. Conditions are good. The skate deck has firmed up over the last few days. Grooming plans: Remaining trails will be groomed/tracked Friday. Note: With warm temps and possible rain, please plan your trail use for times when the trails are firm (at or below freezing). Hopefully we get some new snow!

The skate deck was soft. The snowfall was so deep that it may take additional grooming passes to help set it. Feels like a typical good problem to have for the skate deck. Double poling on the perfect track-set made it passable. The restored prairie section was the worst for boot walkers damage. The post-holes surprised me at speed. Do a few loops in the center by the ice rink, it's a fun section.

The conditions at Jackson Meadow were not as good as I expected, but I give the groomers a pass. There is just a lot of soft snow. That means the classic track is very deep, the skate deck is like powdered sugar, and the impact from numerous walkers and dogs is magnified. The snow was so deep and soft that I found poles to be basically useless. Still, the woods were beautiful and there was almost no wind (a rarity in the open spots at Jackson Meadow). And the soft and slow conditions meant I had more time to enjoy the great trail system at Jackson Meadow!
