Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
All trails ski worthy except the last little bit to the tower end trailhead sign, which I broke trail to. Skate lane is a bit more grooved up the further out you get. There was a light layer of snow over a harder base. I guess the cold weather really solidified the snow. Classic tracks look to be in pretty good condition. Groomer has done a good job with what he has to work with.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
Since it finally got above zero today I decided that it was time to try and do some grooming. I put the Ginsu groomer to work and did the best I could on the Prelude loops. I set the groomer knives as low as I dared since there is only about a 6-8 inch base on the trail and I didn't want to dig dirt. I managed to groom and set track on all of the Inner and Outer Prelude loops and set a track, not the best track, a little shallow, but I didn't hit dirt, so I was happy. I skied the trail today and I thought it skied very well. I haven't done any work on the Lake Loop yet, but I will explore the possibility; without any new snow, there is only so much I can do to improve things. I will give an update if anything changes.

Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
Groomed Prelude loops were kind of icy but beyond where there was no recent grooming, skate skiing was great fun almost to Tower end. Slight snow cover over skate lane allowed for safe descent on steep hills. Groomed wide to skate up. Temps in 20’s.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
Groomed 2.5 inches of snow from last Saturday, and set track on the Inner and Outer Prelude Loops, Lake loop to Lower Junction to "H" Junction, back to Red Pine Junc. and back to Trailhead; about 5.5 k if you ski all loops. I hope to groom Tower end tomorrow. Please help by picking up twigs and branches off the trail.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
Groomed and set track on the Inner and Outer Prelude Loops (about 5k if you ski everything), Lake loop to "Z" junction was flat groomed on Monday. May be a little firm but should be skiable. Lots of sticks and branches on trail, please do your part and flick debris off the trail. Thanks.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
We got about 4-5 inches of wet snow on Thursday and it was cold enough to groom the snow today. Groomed and set track on Prelude Loops, Lake Loop, and up to H junction; need to pack the new snow on the Tower end before that part can be groomed. Snow was still hanging on the trees.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic Secondhand
[ Trails Open: Partial, Good skis ]
I did ski in 3 inches of wet heavy crusty snow on all the Prelude loops and released snow from many overhanging branches. Tom, the Groomer, packed the middle leaving the classic tracks. He plans to come back and smooth it all out and reset tracks tomorrow. Plan is to do it early morning before youth skiers and parents are on the trails or after 3 pm Saturday. No ski tracks or grooming on upper loops yet.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Mostly good, the far loops are thin with a lot of twigs sticking up but I was able to step/hop around everything. Some of the bigger downhills are a little interesting with all the stuff sticking up. The closer trails have good coverage and are skiing well. The current snow is much needed. At this point, I would go to Mt Itasca if you're looking for hills.
