Grooming [ Trails Open: Most, ]

Trails were all groomed overnight Thursday, into Friday. They set up really well before about a 1/4 inch of snow very early Friday morning. Conditions are good to very good with fresh grooming and new snowfall to help create and edge and provide coverage on the handful of thin spots out there. Small portion of the 10k loop remain closed (Post O > U > T).

Groomers were out after a few fluffy inches fell overnight. Firm deck and skiing was great! Still a handful of thin spots but those were easily avoided. Seems like 10k loop was still closed but all the other loops were open and in good shape. Big thanks to the folks and groomers for keeping things going, what a great facility!

Cold but decent day at WinMan today. I was actually on my way up to Ironwood but stopped at WinMan to see how conditions were and decided to ski there instead of driving. Talked to a few folks in the lodge who said conditions were good, so I gave it a go. Skied the 7k loop a few times and indeed conditions were really good considering. It was hard and fast with a layer of light snow on top but you could definitely hold an edge and have fun. Super cold though for sure. It was lightly snowing the whole time I was there and looked like they were getting some cover. Hopefully they will groom again soon.

Some trails had been roped off since I was last there a few days ago. Thin cover, but edging was decent. Not much in the way of tracks. Worth the trip for me as the closest skiing from my home. Got a very positive report regarding the fat bike trails.

We have hit all the trails, but the portions that are still closed have more exposed rocks and dirt and are not in good condition. No tracks have been set anywhere on the system due to minimal snow depth. In addition to the North Trails which were opened yesterday, we have opened the majority of the South Trails, including the 5.7k and 7k loops.

Snowing since morning From Minocqua north. Winman nearly excellent skating, no classic tracks, frozen crust covered with 1.5 inches of dense snow bonding to frozen deck below. Good edge control, never slipped on crust below while skating off. Skied almost two hours, never hit a woodchip which were evident in spots. Still snowing at dusk as I left.

Was surprisingly good. Skated rock skis but could have been B skis if careful.

Trail in good shape. I would recommend these trails. Plenty of trails open for a good workout. Great for skating, no tracks.

The crew was able to groom the majority of the North Trails in the afternoon. Thin with a few rocks, but overall good coverage and very skiable.
