Daily lake effect snow has kept Ironwood trails fresh and the Miner's was a velvet carpet ride Tuesday evening. Grooming has been top-notch all season and the track setter really had the climbs dialed in today A few boot marks in the skate lane but otherwise the entire trail was very good. Enjoyed the new South Pabst loop that cuts through a pine woods and adds another half-K. It's worth seeking out this little gem of a trail sometime for a "quick ski" on the way to ABR or Wolverine. Also, the Friends of Miner's Memorial Heritage Park (MMHP) just launched a new website for grooming donations and memberships.

Miners was awesome (again) this evening. It seems the trails were groomed again earlier today after the additional inch or so of snow we got last night. The groomers are doing great and it’s been a treat to have this option right in town. Tracks looked to be in good shape too.

Skied the Miners Loop and had a very good experience. Track set and in pretty good shape over the 3 mile loop. Some bare spots and vegetation sticking up. Overall very happy with conditions of trail given the relatively small amount of snow!

Well some fun gliding to be had still at Miners but can’t take another 40F. Some stretches great but skis off a couple times on outer loop. Icy base with some loose stuff on sides. Down to 95 percent coverage. Track? No way. Worth drive? Only if you are really Jones’in to get on real snow. Apres-ski at the Big Lake was nice.

An inch of new snow overnight made for decent rock ski conditions at the Miners Trail in downtown Ironwood. No recent grooming but a firm frozen base over 99 percent of the trail. The big downhill next to the Pabst pond is best walked but remainder of the system is fair.

Groomed skate lane with classic track. Skate lane is a bit soft and undulating with some stubble. Classic track was quite firm with a few thin spots. Nice to be skiing again!

Record earliest grooming at Miners Trail in downtown Ironwood MI. Should be a long and lovely season in the Snow Belt.

First rolling of the season was completed today. Expect rough conditions on all but the football field where conditions are quite good. A lot of people were out enjoying the trails.
