Firm skate deck of mostly transformed snow base. Base is relatively thin for the area and time of year, but the conditions still made for great skating. Classic track only set on higher up and more sheltered trails where less blowing and melting occurs. Track was really fast and super fun to jump in on the descents. Overalll the low snow year has made the trails the fastest I've skied at SMR and the temps were very pleasant for mid-January. Beautiful cluster of >82km of groomed trails with all the views and climbs you could ask for.

From the Nordic Center you have to walk 200 yards across the creek. Skated from Gaskill up to Blueridge with Young, Eagle Valley, new Eagle trail and Blueridge loop. Didn't hit anything and the base goes to from a couple inches to over a foot as you climb.
