All the usual xc trails are open. Some summer trails are snowshoe or hiking. Very few bare spots and you can get around them. Track was fast and slick and one warm sunny day might be the end of it.

The 10 km of groomed classic-only trails are mostly flat and easy, great for beginners. A few thin spots crop up, but I felt only sticks and twigs underneath. You will ski along the edge of ravines leading to the Minnesota River with nice overlooks. The steep Ravine Trail is not groomed but is skier tracked. I fell going down last week and my knee is still sore. I'll wait for a deep snow before I attempt that again. You must cross a shallow ravine to get to the Butterfly Meadow. I advise snowplowing through the "S" curve and get in the tracks when you come to the straightaway. You can rent skis and snowshoes at the Ney Nature Center (pronounced "nigh"). The parking lot was full but few skiers go as far as the Butterfly Meadow.

Very skiable at 1 pm. Lots of users. Very low snow in parts. I expect it to get bare spots very soon. Tracks set on some trails. Parking lot was full.
