Firsthand: Classic
[ B skis ]
Followed others tracks from the crane sculptures to the lake, then blazed a loop around the fox pens to 275th, mostly in a shallow remnant track. About an inch of fresh snow, which hid a couple bare spots under oaks along the lake. Pleasantly surprised that the track held up after last week's thaw, worth it to get out.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ B skis ]
Waxless classics starting at Crane sculpture parking area east and north to the parking lot off Vassar and return. Solid classic track with a light coating of snizzle at 30 degrees made it fast and effortless. Omnipresent Anoka Sand Plain pin oak leaves, a few sticks, and gopher mound scrapes, but not a big problem.

Morning
Firsthand: Classic
[ Good skis ]
Great early conditions with a half inch of fresh snow in the well formed track. Waxless classics east of Furman, started at parking lot by crane sculptures to the parking lot at Vassar and return. Single track with a parallel packed trail for walkers and snowshoes will hopefully keep the track clean.
