2022-2023 season

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Good skis ]
Waxless classics on east side loops. Snow was surprisingly firm and fast, crystallized into "corn snow." Track was obliterated in open areas, but detectable in the woods. Still plenty of snow to enjoy!

I keep thinking it can't get any better, then I go out again! Freshly groomed, a little soft and some sticky spots with sun exposure and south aspect. Get out while you can!

Made it out before too warm! For a beginner classic skier trails were good! Trails were groomed for classic.

Skied the east side loops, it was freshly groomed and gorgeous. Slightly sticky in the sun on our waxless skis, but well worth it.

Track was thin and covered with new snow, with the occasional case of the "March Stickies." A good workout.

Beginner classic skier. Pretty nicely groomed. Some trails had been walked on closer to the parking lots.

Afternoon

[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Trails not recently groomed but most loops had track that had been skied in. Some oak leaves. A large branch blocked the trail on the Oak Woodland area.

A fresh inch of snow in a shallow but decent track. My timing was good before it warmed too much, only sticky adjacent to conifers or leafy oaks that were absorbing the ample sunshine.

Lovely conditions for these trails. We skied the entire system, all nicely set. A bit of colder weather should firm up the tracks. There was significant walker damage on the trails, mostly on the west side of the county highway, even though there is a separate walking path. Stop by here for a classic ski, there are 5 miles of trails through delightful woods.

Freshly groomed and gorgeous. Waxless classics on the east side loops. A little soft and sticky, but it should set up nicely with the colder temps.
